Put him in crush between two big cattle/cows and trap his head up. Halter him to the top rail. No slack. Loop rope around his head/neck and the rail too. Do it soon while the hole is still fully open. Go easy with him, take your time and if he's any way normal you won't have a problem.

His neck is as big as his head. :D I have a new tag and ring ready for him. I have herd test in 2 weeks. Vet said he'd help me with him, possibly give him something to keep him quite.

    Sounds like a volunteer! ;)
Nah he's grand but, but I don't want to upset him. Was told you should always get someone else to ring your bull just in case he holds a grudge.

Heard on Rare Breed the other night that was only a myth! I was there when ours was ringed today and he walked over to me looking to get his neck scratched when feeding him at 4.

He's a dote. I presume the hole is still in his nose, so maybe mostly a matter of blinkering him. Not volunteering though.

That's no way to have a bull. The pet bull is the killer.

Fair enough but he only became quiet a couple of months ago. Wasn't petted since a calf or anything. The dam is docile too.

Id only know a few songs by them but know what they played so far.

To give them their due- it’s a nice way to spend the evening. At least Mam out and about.

As podge and rodge used to call them, fester and alien!
The clothes they wore on top of the pops while singing "a bunch of thyme" were class!

Wasn't there a question going around there for a while.
    Q. Name the only two Westmeath men to play midfield in an All Ireland Senior Football final.

    A. Foster & Allen ( They played at half time! ) ;-)

Did it open at the joint?

It was burst at the hinge and where it closes, strange....

I saw Rare Breed the other night aswell. Yer man had a stainless steel pointer for putting a hole in the nose. He got it made up somewhere. Fine job.

Foster & Allen and groupie weren't words I'd expect in the same sentence tbh :pac:

Foster and Allen were on Timmy Tiernan the other night. Gas men. Talking about playing in Aussie. Said they would always get a packed house just because they were a link with home for the Irish there. Said if they were playing in Mullingar, the same people would go to Leitrim to get away from them.

I remember being on a group trip of young Irish in England on a bus.
The Dubliners was on fulltime on the bus.
If we were traveling through clonmel on that bus, that Dubliners CD would have been thrown out the window in 5 minutes.

Profit per cow, about 12% less.

Great research by young BT Scientist on blackberry antibiotic killing staph.
    http://www.thejournal.ie/bt-young-scientist-winner-3795563-Jan2018/

Will we be rubbing blackberries to cows udders? Or will we be farming the blackberries?

Hard to believe its less when you have less labour, lameness, fertility problems and feeding required but ill keep looking into it. Worked for a lad before OAD for first month of the season and thin/lame/late cows kept OAD until their first service, 93% 6 week in-calf rate this season
