    Hi lads

Just a quick question for you all.

Back in the early 90s a neighbor of mine had a Nissan Urvan with aircraft seats installed in the back. Seemed to be a good job, seatbelts and all. Said it was all above board with insurance etc. and maybe at the time it was.

My question is that if I tried something similar now in a Transit or something similar, what would the story be legally?

Thanks in advance for any replies .

This is rather common; I've seen such set ups in a few vans.

    Eg

Regulations for crew cab conversions have really tightened up recently, so you will have to do a lot of homework. It might be easier to find a van that is already set up.

ITS a crewcab. You can’t just put seats in the back of a van though. Has to be registered as one.

Buddy of mine got his 14 Transporter converted and certified as a crewcab recently. Dunno the ins and outs of it but he says the whole lot came in just under 4000 with all paperwork and whatnot. Have to say it's like it came out of a factory.

Kinda thought that. I was just curious as to how something like that would be looked upon in 2018.

    1991 was a different world I suppose.
