Going to pick up our Allure some day this week too, everyone in the house very excited, has staved off the Christmas blues (a bit).

You are too quiet! That can only mean you are super happy that you can't stop driving, or you are way too mad to write words down!

Haha. Apologies about the delay. It's been a busy day. The car is an absolute dream with lane assist on the M50 becoming my favourite feature. It's a very customisable car from the dash point of view. On the thing that's weird is the revs go right (anti clockwise aka Aston Martin) but you get used to that. I've heard stories about the responsiveness of the infotainment centre being an issue but I can't see that at all. It's quick to touch and does all I need.

Anyway, I've yet to setup Android play but I've synced my phone and with the dials on the wheel and shortcut buttons I rarely have to ever touch the screen. There is a shortcut for radio and heat which is great.

Anyway to the car itself Love it. Mind you the wife has had it all day with the 3 kids. 3 kids seats fit perfectly which is a dream and makes the boot massive.

The drive it self is amazing. I find it very very comfortable and so so quiet. It handles really well and I feel it's nippy too which is greta.

I'll post photos up tomorrow but all in all I'm over the moon.

    Great to hear.

Can I ask what type of car seats you have, hoping to buy soon and if this takes 3 it would seal the deal for me.

I have the old model (131) and am changing to the new model next week, but they have 3 full seats with isofix points (which sealed the deal for me when I had 3 under 3 as most 7 seaters really only fit 2.5 in the middle row) My 3 are now in HBBs, but at one stage I had a maxi cosi cabriolet with a Family Fix base, a maxi cosi Pearl with a Family Fix base and a maxi cosi priori and they all fitted in perfectly, I would imagine there's no major difference between the old and new model.

I think I commented on this early on in the forum. The resposiveness is absolutely fine and a non-issue as is the small steering wheel, as is the Pan Roof.

Enjoy the car and congrats, I think I seen your car in Bluebell at one point or another, I think, perhaps not though, lovely all the same .

    No problem.

We have the below 3 seats. 1st one is for our 3.5 year old. 2nd for our 5 year old with the seatbelt being used not the harness. 3rd for our 10 week old. However you'd fit another of the 1st or 2nd in also when the smaller baby needs a bigger chair.

All 3 fit perfectly in the middle row.

Oh yes, the Pan roof. I'm 5'11 not big by any means but I have PLENTY of room and I have the pan roof.

Super, thanks for the detail - even 2 of the 3 seats I have are the same! The very best of luck with it.

Wondering could someone give me bit if advice.

Have to change the car in the next few weeks 151 Octavia 1.6 (105)
Just found out we are due a 3rd baby in August. So we want 3 is fix seats so the 5008 is ideal.

I have opted for the 1.2 petrol entry model mainly because of price.
The entry model does not bother me it's the 1.2 petrol.

Is there enough power in the 1.2.
The Octavia did 75k in 3 year. Will fuel economy end up costing on the 1.2 petrol?
Also with the current market concerns with diesel im afraid that in 5 years it may be more difficult to shift and depreciation would be greater?

    Any thoughts would be great
    Thanks

The diesel will be cheaper to run over 75km and three years, it should do 20% better fuel economy and diesel as you know is cheaper and wasn’t touched in the budget.

I personally think a higher mileage petrol in three years will be as hard to sell as they always have where as diesel buyers especially on bigger cars will continue to be more forgiving about higher mileage.

I really think the comments on forums about the death of diesel are very overplayed, for low mileage/ short run drivers, petrol is generally better but it’s not better for all

Thanks a million I had not considered the high mileage on a petrol engine in 5 years it will have about 125k definately an easier sell on a diesel. Thanks a million

Yeah, its difficult to know how a small petrol will be viewed with a bit higher mileage. You are borderline there, and I did the calculations before and a rough estimate was that after 3 years and 75K Km you break even when comparing the 1.2PT v 1.6HDI. This was based on the average MPG from that German Site and current fuel prices in Ireland.
The 1.2 is a cracker to drive.
Just an FYI, the Diesel scaremongering is pretty rife in the UK. There was an article in the UK Indo over the weekend that for the first time in a decade or so CO2 was higher in cars (car sales perhaps) for 2017. This reverses the trend of the previous decade. And its being blamed on Diesel scaremongering and higher sales of Petrol cars. What was apparent was that the UK are acknowledging that mistakes have been made and basically Petrol is not the solution (in a given scenario) to the CO2 issue. The expert consultants were harping on about that the new Euro6 Diesels should not be unfairly demonised.

Because they are really clean. The issue starts when they are home-tuned, AdBlue injection switched of, DPF cut out etc...

Honest John have 3008 1.2 owners getting 40mpg and diesel getting 50mpg. I’d say that 1.2 is a nice engine but it will certainly cost more in fuel over 100,000km. I think the diesel is only a few hundred more to buy too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22 ianv

Thanks for the advice think diesel is the way to go for me, mileage is too high.

Comparing the 3008 to the 5008 how are people finding the 3008 for space. Will it fit 3 child seats in the rear like the 5008?

No. 3008 has a bench, 5008 has three separate seats.

YOu might fit three seats there - but it will be nowhere as easy as in 5008.

It's actually a 2k difference which is alot

I picked up ours today, 1.2 Puretech manual Active. Anyone worried about child seat space or power delivery should rest assured - it's a virtually perfect family car. It's a lovely place to be, long journeys should be dramatically easier.

Hey guys any feedback on the sound system? I just saw in the 3008 the same question and it came to me that I never really tested it. I didn't fork out the extra for focal.

Peugeot's own 'real-world MPG' figures state:

    2016 PEUGEOT MODELS| Real world mpg| Claimed mpg| Difference
    3008 1.6l BlueHDi 120 S&S BVM6 17'' VLRR tyres| 46.31| 68.90| 22.59
    3008 1.2l PureTech 130 S&S BVM6 17'' ULRR tyres| 37.17| 57.65| 20.48
