Dan O'Donnell is my favourite contributor, superb knowledge of Irish football and well able to articulate his opinion, never comes across rude or arrogant or bored either.

I think Kevin's mood will vary depending on who he is on with, anytime an ex team mate is on, he is always fairly enthusiastic. He must get a bit bored of doing so much media though, there's only so much you can talk about before it gets painful

Oisin Langan in the big chair on a Saturday!

Well this is certainly a throwback.

John Giles came out another "old saying in football" Thursday night, something along the lines of "There's only one ball on the pitch." He should put together an anthology of these....

Joe Molloy gonna present TV3 coverage of the 6 Nations

Just noticed this now...seems like this was the role Joe was hankering for all along. His PC stance, which has really come to the fore over the last year or so, would have put him in the perfect position for this job. That's not to take away from Joes qualities as a presenter, I think he's decent and will do a good job with this, but I think his PC-ness definitely put him in good stead.

His slot on the show is his anthology of these.. He's been working on it for years!

There was a brilliant bit about this on dangerhere.com, Johnny na Seanfhocal, that doesn't seem to be there any more. Just pointing out he comes up with all these 'old sayings' that no-one else has ever heard...

Joe dared Kilbane to call it St Stephens Day on MOTD instead of Boxing Day on the 26th and he just did fair fcuks to him.

Joe is genuinely an extremely good presenter as is Nathan Murphy. Neither deserve half the criticism they get on here (though that's mostly reserved for Joe in fairness)

I stand to be corrected but I don't remember too many people criticising Joe's ability to present. I have probably been most critical of him given his over-compensatory PC stance but his quality as a radio presenter is not in doubt. I'm sure he'll translate it very well to television too and do a textbook job for TV3. It doesn't take away from the fact that he is a pontificating pedant when it comes to upholding the agenda of the social justice warrior. It's so pervasive it comes across as spineless because he is absolutely terrified of offending absolutely anybody which is ironic given the majority of his audience are likely young to middle aged white males who are the one strata of society you can safely criticise without upending your SJW status. This would all be fine if he were presenting the awful global village show but us oppressive young white males want to hear about sport. Not racism, child abuse and gender dysmorphia.

Padraig Harrington and Kimmage doing paper review today. Know he’s like marmite but I enjoy Kimmage. The pair of them like talking might need three hours!

I have a weird thing about listening to Kimmage. I cannot stand the guy and I disagree with him on basically every view he has but every time he is on, I just have to listen to him. He never fails to be interesting.

Genuinely brilliant paper review today. Went on for nearly two hours. Harrington is a very honest and open guy. Kimmage was trying to get a rise out of him, but he managed to bat his points away.

Harrington was great, sensible and able to call out Kimmage’s excesses. He’s not going to be on much unfortunately so it will back to the likes of Declan Lynch and mad exaggerations next week probably.

Ah if Lynch is nothing else he's very funny to listen to! His bitterness resonates very well with me!

He can be very funny, but he just exaggerates almost everything

That was probably my favourite paper review of all time. The "what's in Padraig Harrington's fridge" bit was gas. Just brilliant stuff. A very unique interaction between the two of them.

Harrington's voice for two hours would be painful, thirty seconds of that Flora ad is bad enough.

That’s the great thing about the radio, pal. You can change the station, or turn the thing off.

I enjoyed that paper review more than I thought I would. Padraig Harrington turned out to be a fascinating character. Very sharp, interesting insights. He also was well able for Paul Kimmage, something not everyone manages. All in all, it made for great listening.

I thought it was absolute tripe. It was more golf interview with Harrington than paper review with guests. His '18 month' theory was the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard and he was so safe and PC on everything he talked about it got very mundane very quickly. Can't say the "f word", can't see the cynicism behind Stander negotiating his contract with his adopted country through the press. Give me Kimmage any day but please don't bring Harrington back.

I just heard a few minutes of it with Padraig doing what Padraig does best.
    psychoanalysising Golf ....

I remember one line of it - was something like.
"I don't fear losing, but I used to fear the process of losing..."
"The process of losing used to scare me" :D:confused:

It made me laugh and I turned it off.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

The review is fine when it's a review. This was nothing more than an opportunity for Joe to quiz Harrington on such fascinating topics as coming second, slow play and an unhealthy obsession with burgers. Riveting stuff altogether.

I happend to catch some of it also. Christ, it was really, really boooring. It was far too long a segment and the fanboy stance of the presenter didn't really help matters. I thought he was going to need a new pair of briefs, such was his gushing about the mere fact of being in Mr. Harrington's presence.

Was there no one outside the glass to take charge and put a bit of shape and order on it?

And this is the much vaunted Off The Ball brand that Communicorp are pushing on all their stations all day? That must be a sign of how badly the company's Irish stations are doing.

I enjoyed it but can see why others didn't especially if you have no interest in golf. Should have done an hour paper review and an hour with Harrington imo. Kimmage was constantly poking him for some reason as well, thought Harrington did well.

Anyone got a link so I can watch OTB AM live?

I'm finding it surprisingly difficult to find.
