Button Fly - why do they still exist?

So I was out buying jeans and finding it hard to get something to fit well. Anyway, when I did find something comfortable it turned out that they had a button fly which is something I really dislike.

Why is it that when zips have existed for such a long time, button flys are still so common. They are really awkward when you need to use a urinal, I just don't get it

I had a few pairs and they were more comfortable than ones with zippers. If they're good buttons then ya can just snap it open when bursting for a piss.

If you ever got your Sergeant Major caught in a zipper, you'd understand why :)

You could pull out the zip and put in two strips of Velcro , even quicker when you need a slash.

Yeah they open easy but they are a bit fiddly to close. I don't wan't to give the wrong impression at the urinal...

I have gotten so used to the button fly, that I even unbuckle my belt and open the trouser button on my zip fly jeans.

Zips, buttons - doesn't matter, flies are a bloody annoyance.

Button fly's are great. Many zip flys have a nasty habit of opening themselves. Or maybe it's just my enormous manhood.
