Does it belong to Wayne now? Pretty sure he bought it from Paul when the latter was in dire straits because of The Plan.

Yes, Wayne owns the garage remember he was going to open his self service petrol station their because it was close to the Motorway!

What dedication, Westerosi's Mum And NewbridgeIR! I watched it from the start on and off and no way can I remember those details.

They could compile an encylcopaedia together! My mam has a head like a sieve when it comes to most things, but she's like an elephant with the auld soaps - she never forgets! :D

Good episode tonight. I know Oakley is evil but lets not forget Manson is just as bad, don't forget she got Hannah to sleep with Emmet, threatened to have her thrown out of the cult then nearly made her suicidal after 2 solid days of brainwashing and then she ended up in hospital. And now she takes 15 thousand just like that!

It will be interesting to explore the history between Oakley and Manson, that's where this next few weeks is going to focus. And I really hope Pete gets blown up, he really has turned into an insufferable character!

Marcus Lambe and Sorcha Fox are outstanding as Manson and Oakely, no doubt.

I love Oakley as a baddie - the actor plays the part so well, but am I the only one starting to feel sorry for poor auld Miriam - I don't think she's actually bad, I think because of her own experiences, she's well intentioned but just going about it the wrong way. By the look on Hannah's face at one stage after talking to Oakley, I fear that Miriam might be losing her only ally.....

Hannah would believe anything anyone said. I wouldn't count on her for support. Gullible doesn't begin to describe her.

I dunno, there is still that side to Manson that turned a complete blind eye to Emmet using his tactics on Hannah to try and sleep with Doug then she broke Hannah down to nothing before approving her being shot with drugs, because she was so worried about being reported to Head Office. Manson is as determined to keep control as Oakley but it probably doesn't show because she has a caring aura. But even when she had that session with Dan, I got the impression she was just doing her best to "pretend" to care rather than giving him time and space to open up.
Its fascinating to see Mansons recruitment strategy- literally anyone she bumps into in Vinos, Spar, the community centre and the street is a potential candidate. Spar will have a "No Cult" policy soon!

Agreed. Her and Emmet are completely victim to whatever is happening and whoever is talking at that time, they have no solid morals or beliefs and are 100% open to suggestion and very easily persuaded. Hannah will probably end up turning on Miriam because of Oakley.

With all due respect, you are giving FC far too much credence. There are no outstanding performances by any actor on fair city at present. This group story line is absolutely woeful. It's not in the least bit credible that this group would.come in to a place like carrigstown and gain the level.of traction shown here.damien, Wheely Dan, Charlotte, eoin, Emmet all recruited in the space of a few weeks.

Not to mention all the holes in the plot..Charlotte and Oakley as an example.

Emmet and the graffiti last night being another.

That's why fair city is just so poor recently, there is no credibility to the story lines. The Katy in the box story was another example.

Other soaps have that issue at.times too, but look at the way EastEnders as an example have built up the brannings story over months. It was done very well climaxing at the right times. The fair city writers have no concept of building a storyline and developing characters as they should be.

The dodgy acting doesn't help imo.

Fair city used to be so much better than this. It was never award winning stuff but at least it was some what well done and the story lines some bit believable.

As only a brief look at my posts will concur, I am the first person to slate how awful the storylines can be and how many plot holes FC has, and I agree with you over Katy, absolutely ruined that story with the length, then you have the Plan which had a Start a Middle but no End and the whole farce with the garage, Niamh still staying with Paul and no word of Dermot etc- awful.

I disagree with you though saying there are no fine performances on FC- Fair City is clearly divided into two camps when it comes to acting prowess- you have the likes of Carol, Damien, Paul, Delores, Charlotte, Niamh etc who only turn up for a paycheque and rely heavily on FC money and with little extra acting experience or ability. Then you have method actors like Bob, Renee, Heather, Sorcha Fox who plays Miriam, Rose who used to be in Glenroe, Carrie Crowley and a few others. Taking out the fact that they have NO control over what script they are handed, can you genuinely say, hand on heart, that those people are bad actors? I certainly cant and they do the best they can with the material they are handed.

The cult storyline is the only reason I am still tuned in to FC. I actually think its been paced perfectly. I think you are putting too much emphasis on the weak spots of the story like Charlotte suddenly not being scared, Emmet spraying paint in the middle of the same road where there are usually 10 people having chats, and ignoring the clever parts. Remember, Manson was introduced a YEAR ago and it took that long to slowly introduce people into self-healing, then more aggressive recruitment, then brainwashing, then conflict with locals before the inevitable isolation from the community. Now its getting very interesting with the two leaders wanting each other out and not caring who or what gets in their way. Its a fascinating concept.

Very few soaps have done a proper cult story and in fact FC has actually surpassed Brookside now because Brookside had it wrapped up in a few months. Take out the cult and what are we left with? Wayne making money, Delores walking down the street and endless Damien/Caoimhe crap. I certainly don't think my tv license is worth that.

Very few fair maiden's left in Carrickstown for Thomaseen to woo.

Seeing as he's playing happy families with Caoimhe and her nipper.....perhaps he would like to spend some time with Junior.

On second thoughts can't see that happening as he has no interest in his other son Zac for quiet some time.

He's definately at a loose end.

“Fascinating concept” I have to disagree , far fetched, frustrating fictitious maybe ....... certainly in real life almost the entire male population of a town could not be recruited without question into a cult . Peter maybe be annoying and grumpy but he’s the only voice of reason in the place !

This is where FC falls down time after time - it’s out of touch with reality, these events are simple not believable (Katy in a box, mad Heather , the Plan, the Cult) - no co-relation to everyday life and poorly written to boot .

I sometimes felt sorry for Miriam she sometimes might have done the wrong thing but she believed it was for the right reasons.

I think that losing her baby like that caused her to have a breakdown. Oakley mentioned at one stage that she used to be a psychologist. So I'd say she was a fairly good one until the death of her baby. I wouldn't imagine that Oakley was that supportive when the baby died and probably blamed her and was instrumental in her breakdown, likely implying that she was a terrible mother, etc. I also got the impression from what he said to Eoghan when Eoghan asked him if they'd been together long, and that even though he knew about Miriam's child's death, he hadn't known that he'd been the father, and Oakley said something like words to the effect: ''We weren't together all that long'' which I took to mean, in layman's terms, ''it was a quick bunk up, that I regretted, but I wanted the baby when I found out she was pregnant'' (the fact that he loved the baby might be his only redeeming feature) sort of situation. I think he probably mentally tortured her, and when she recovered, or was seen to, she joined the Phoenix Way - maybe even Oakley, knowing what a mind f**k the group was, more or less coaxed her into joining instead of going for proper professional help; hence the whole misjudged, though well intentioned business with Hannah, because she still hasn't fully recovered from the loss of her child, and her judgement isn't the greatest. But she does seem a kind and sincere person, who genuinely wants to help people. She has said time and again that she's totally against violence and coercion, so she's not the baddie here. That's my revised take on it. She's no cult - as in a Manson type figure - leader, but a person who genuinely believes that she's helping others. Neither is Oakley - a cultist - for that matter, he's just out to destroy Miriam. That's my revised take on the situation. :)

Ah, you'd never know...... She's slept with Paul Brennan and that's about as bad as it gets.... The Ram is a better prospect. I wouldn't sleep with Paul Brennan if i was offered a huge 150 million Euromillions jackpot in return - and that's saying something. :D I'd sooner Hughie, even terrible Pete, than Paul Brennan for that kind of money! :P

Re the available - or in the Ram's case - often non-available women:

If Niamh was still around, I'd say he'd get together with her at some stage.... Now who's left (that he hasn't already slept with)

1: Carol (after Robbie breaks up with her (fingers crossed) and gets back with Aoife.
2: Sash She's bisexual, so she might, at some stage take a fancy to him.
    3: Farrah - she's single again....
4: Renee (when she gets fed up of whispering Bob tailing her everywhere :P )
5: Quite possibly Hayley - after all she's been with Damo and the odious Paul Brennan, the Ram would be a step up for her.
6: Kerri-Ann - (I have a feeling she'll lose that baby and Decco too, and Mondo won't want anything more to do with her), so maybe the Ram could do with some Barbie doll stupid in his life to lighten the atmosphere.
7: Miriam - when she gets fed up of Eoghan (Debbie did, so there might be a pattern there) and it all comes out that it's Oakley, not her is to blame for all the trouble.
8: Charlotte - I know she's a bit young, but I don't think that'd bother the Ram too much, she's still well over the age of consent. She's what twenty/twenty one now?
9: Ama - when she comes back from Zambia, after saying she was going for good :P
10: Karen - even though she's on the young side too :P
11: Nora - he might decide that he likes the more mature woman - as in the possible case with Renee :P
    12: Melanie - she's newly single too.... :P
13: Dolores - could you blame her; poor woman is married to Pete and it looks like potential love interest Ronan won't be coming back.
Good God! I was going to say Caoimhe, until I realised that she's his daughter..... Now that'd be a terrible step beyond the pale!
Or, if he wakes up one day and decides he likes the gents too, there's always Cristiano...... :D

The Ram is a better prospect.

Dunno, imagine waking up in the middle of the night and Tommy not in the other side of the bed, a little light blinking on the ceiling that you hadn't noticed before, maybe it's the smoke alarm, no such luck it's the opposite end of the room. Maybe all those rumours about him were true, maybe not. Where is he you ask yourself, now paralysed with fear. You switch on the bedside lamp and there he is...buck naked standing over you with a fly swat in his hand. Don't move says the bould Ram there's a wasp on the headboard....and there you were thinking all sorts your mind going a mile a minute.

You're a very welcome addition to our group. I see a lot of strength in you, leadership qualities. You have a way with people, can't you see that? People open up and become less inhibited around you. We all feel healing, at a very deep level when you speak. I know you have really balanced my ying and yang.

    Ok..ok..ok...

So the diner is called 'The Hungry Pig", and Emmett goes and writes "Pig" as his revenge graffiti. ..

Likely a coincidence but the Manson family graffitied the words Pig, piggies and helter skelter on the walls of the houses they invaded.

I reckon Oakley is a mad Beatles fan.
