Above and beyond. The Mira Elite QT is plagued with problems by all accounts. There are quite a few posts here about people having issues with them.

    Triton T90 SR seems solid.

That’s the normal price for them in Eurosales.

Really cos their website says 250?

I've never seen them at this price, cheapest has been 239

Great price for it, I got one 3 weeks ago for 230 euro with a big of haggling in my local store and I thought I was doing well then .

I had found a good price for it here at the time, my local hardware store matched it and knocked a fiver off it for me.

    https://www.mcmahons.ie/triton-t90sr-pumped-electric-shower-9-0kw-silent-running

The difference in noise levels compared to my previous T90 is significant, its a good shower as electric showers go.

Will this run off a cold supply from storage tank in attic?

    Yes

I assume you can't put it in Mira Elite ST place without any problems?

The pipe for this shower is on a different position to the Mira elite. If you have a partition wall, it is not too hard to adjust the pipe.

These showers are way ahead of previous ones, they actually sound like there is no motor working at all.

Same here, paid 235 for it on McMahons

These showers always go on sale at average €200-€219 Stakelums Thurles,Chadwicks, Topline, homevalue etc etc always have these on sale at certain times of the year. They’re great showers very easy to install and maintain/rebuild but a bargain would be €149 or below.

I'm going to nope that- I work in the trade in one of the above mentioned and they average at €250, lowest of €235, and you would be very lucky to get it for less than that. If you show me where i can get them for €219 including vat i'll get my boss's credit card and buy the lot.

I’ve never seen them this low.

Would it be silly to buy one at this price and keep it for possibly up to 2 years? have a triton t90xr which is near replacing.

Price will probably drop again in 2 years time if a new model comes along.

Can anyone confirm if the holes and water inlet will remain the exact same if I upgrade my old T90si to the T90sr? Basically is it a straight swap? I really don't want to go drilling new holes in the tiles if I can avoid it. Txs

The spec says: Easily replaces older T90 models - uses the same dimensions (footprint) and fixing points.

Practically identical, the overall footprint is slightly different but it's designed as a replacement so inlets/electric/hanging are the same.

A note on this- they are sent in packaging in an "installation' mode, there's a commission switch/button/yoke that threw a lot of folk off when these came out first- when the commission link is in the on position the pump will not work, if in any doubt refer to the manual.

Terribly uninformed post. They’ve never been cheaper and a steal at this price

How is it uninformed, after TEN years working in the industry, and selling them every day?

And i think, if you go and look at what i was answering, i was merely stating that they do not go on sale regularly IN THE SHOPS SUGGESTED at €200, and confirming this to be a bargain.

AND just so everyone is aware, i have never seen them as low, this is a bargain, and i doubt they will be as low again for a good while.

The pipe and electrics are both in the same place for the mira elite and triton t90. As they have a different footprint the only thing to worry about is if the mira is fully tiled behind or not.

Yes. Your warranty will have run out before you even install the shower. Pumps are not designed to be left unused. People with a shower in the guest bathroom are advised to run the shower every week or two to stop the pump from seizing up. Triton T90SR showers that we installed before Christmas were made in November. Shops don't keep anything with a pump on the shelf for long periods of time.

This shower is at a great price (selling below cost) but in two years you'll still be able to get one for 240.

Hi,this unit is not for mains pressure, only gravity fed,i made the costly mistake of hooking one up ,then saw the advisory sheet stating not for mains pressure, it was a costly error,

Fully tiled behind is great. Not fully tiled behind causes problems as it's a different footprint to the mira. Plumbing and electrics are in the same area though

Your installer should have known. You never install any shower with a pump to mains pressure. It blows the pump. Wait for this offer to end on 3rd January and put your t90sr on Donedeal or Adverts. You'll get 200 easily for it if you have the original receipt

Folks who are contemplating changing from Mira to Triton , open the casing on your mira and have a look at the pipe connection.
Also check and see if you have some give on the cable to the shower.

I've professionally installed loads of both and I can tell you from experience that they are by no means identical. The cable is the most important thing as you cannot extend it.

    Happy New year,
    Brian.
