Audi drivers. This morning I witnessed an audi saloon drive around the roundabout 3 times slowly whilst on the phone , no indicator. He was using the roundabout for his conference call. I was so in shock that it took me a moment to move off, just as I was moving off the vehicle behind starting whaling his horn in an obnoxious manner , I looked in the rear view mirror and it was another flipping Audi! May even have been the same guy. B@stard!

Americans are fat, loud, and obnoxious.
French are smelly and think they're great
Germans are very serious, precise, professional, no sense of humour.

People from Cork don’t so much have a chip on their shoulder, but rather a Mt. Everest sized mountain on their shoulder.

Particularly towards folk from ‘The Pale’

    True

The car that tailgates and tries to drive you off the road will be:

    BMW

    Audi

    Mercedes

The car that will cut in dangerously at the last minute to make its exit will be:

    BMW

    Audi

    Mercedes

The fact they've a language like Lego doesn't help when it comes to their love of building stuff either.

Heard the following on a podcast when I was 80% asleep so it couldbe off (and I can't remember if it's just specific to the Finnish or not!) but apparently the reason Scandinavians are often seen as so productive is because they don't have a 'will do' future tense, e.g. they don't say "I will go to shopping later" and instead it translates basically to "I am shopping shopping later" - hopefully someone here knows a few words to clear it up!

Or so this thread would suggest. Read the thread title people, and answer. Is the stereotype true or not.

    * Angry# Audi driver

    Sony.

Most of the other stereo brands are fake, made in China by the lowest bidder.

I was told by a guy i briefly dated that red haired women are only ever really bad looking or else stunningly good looking, never just average. At the time I was really confused because firstly my hair was not naturally red- clearly an unnatural shade of burgandy- so I don't think that "rule" could even apply to me and secondly I don't consider myself to be all that good looking so I genuinely thought he was insulting me. He was a weird guy but I think he actually was on to something, so maybe you're one of the stunning ones that also needs to be watched :pac:

Everybody who terrorises the road in their 20-km-per-hour Micra or Yaris is old, female or suffers from their nerves - and very likely to be all three. True.

Anybody who puts a spoiler on his car, or soups up his car engine, or messes with his tyres is making a statement about his shocking lack of culture and education. True.

Remarked to a colleague recently that since I changed car to a small Audi, people go out of their way to be hostile, even though my driving style is the exact same.

I don't know any Finnish but it's not true of the other Scandinavian languages. Swedish has two future tenses, depending on if you shall do something actively or if that thing will occur come what may.

Their language has a huge part to play in it alright. Cognitive linguistics is a very interesting field.

And my experience with Germans has been much the same as the stereotype we all hear about.

But they know better than everyone else and are not slow letting you know about it either. Knowitalls. But I suppose so is everyone else these days.
