Bringing the festive holiday cheer. :(

He was so polite, he always held the door open the for me.

Joe: and there you were Justine, in a car with the man who invented the carbomb

Listened to the first 15 mins of it while getting the breakfast ready. He had McGuinness on first, probably to get him out of the way. Still managed to get a dig or two in there. He didn't like a couple of people being complimentary about him. Christ, but he is so childish at times.

FWIW I was no fan of McGuinness, but I respect his role in the Peace Process, he's still a highly divisive figure and always will be, but I had way more time or him than Gerry Adams.

Joe spending plenty of time on the dead popstars.

I was unfortunate enough to hear some of that.
I could tell he is in his element, glomming over the celeb deaths and making a proggy about it, as if he knew them. It's verging on unpleasant and sickening.
The radio's off now, and will remain off until he's gone.

Wat was Joe's favourite death of 2-17?

    It's a wonder he didn't do a telly-pole for the best death.

Seriously? Jaysis Lahv Lahn is a stretch for him intellectually, I can’t imagine him filling in for SO’R. Then again if RTE are known for anything (anything apart from extravagance, waste, cronyism, nepotism etc.), it’s for thinking their presenting staff are capable of hosting anything.....when the evidence more often than not suggests otherwise. I predict 2-18 is the year Lottie Ryan joins Primetime.

We're still being bombarded with ads for "Liveline with Joe Duffy" even though it's not back for a week and Joe's not back for a fortnight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 966 ✭✭✭Greybottle

When Joe Duffy does show up in the middle of January, he'll be full of gushing praise for Mrs. Browns Boys being the pinnacle of entertainment over the festive period. Pure coincidence that he's in it of course.

There's some awful shyte in that Sindo interview with Barry Egan as well. The pic sets it off; shirt, tie, sleeveless jumper (fair enough), but the tie pin is daft. Why do you need a tie pin when you've a jumper on over it.

He's also met Meaghan Markle, so no doubt we'll be regaled of stories of that coming up to the wedding in May.

Aren't cufflinks a little formal for this 'casual' attire ?

    One doesn't need a tie pin for tête-á-tête with a gossip monger....does one ?

He wasn't in the first one anyhow. I took one for the thread and watched it

Looks like it could be, tis a Dublin topic so to speak...
Father Damien organises a neighbourhood patrol to tackle the rising amount of crime in Finglas, but it quickly becomes clear that Agnes and Winnie are not exactly cut out for catching criminals. Meanwhile, Cathy has had yet another disastrous internet date, so Mrs Brown takes some unorthodox steps to sort out her daughter's love life once and for all. Second of two festive specials, starring Brendan O'Carroll, Eilish O'Carroll and Jennifer Gibney.

Good grief, say it ain't so.
We'll never hear the end of it. As well as boring the holes off us, he'll be dining out on it for years.

If you look up "talentless lickarse twat" in the dictionary, there's a picture of Barry Egan there.

I'm surprised at you Dan so to speak....over the years there have been numerous posts dedicated to Joe's (lack of) sartorial elegance. The phrase mutton dressed as lamb springs to mind when Joe decides to dress up for de photos and dat - often with visually offensive results.

Isn't that the delightful Shane MacGowan's missus?

Or am I miles wide of the mark??

My favourite misuse of an accesory is Joe's wearing of a pochette (pocket square) with his best Guiney's suits. The folded 4 point crown look went out in the 1980s, but Duffy is still rocking it....and even still he messes it up. When one wears it in this style it's supposed to be worn with a larger portion of the non-pointed crowns visible.

    nintchdbpict000331577334-e1497513334918.jpg?strip=all&w=960&quality=100

Joe also duz be a big fan of de stockbroker shirts:
    nintchdbpict000028464535.jpg?strip=all&w=669

    And de novelty braces:
    000b1d87-440.jpg

And let's not forget the wunderful, fantastic FunnyFryday Uniform consisting of cheap suit, DE FAMOUS RED VELURE WAISTCOAT and DICKIE BOW combo.

    7135491449_d5c84baf97.jpg

I love this look - the cheap and ill-fitting suit (especially de shlacks), the God awful shoes, the pochette falling down into the suit itself as he doesn't know how to fold it correctly; but the piece de resistance is the tacky scarf and dickie bow combo:
    mrs-browns-boys-dmovie-14.jpg

It takes a lot of money to look that cheap.

The most shocking thing for me about that Sindo circle jerk photo shoot bullsh*t is the Taoiseach went to it. Think about that for a minute.
He should be embarrassed but no doubt he's more concerned with how many likes he got on social media for it. I genuinely had high hopes for Leo, which makes my disappointment even more crushing.
