Hi.... bought the above from Argos recently as son complaining that internet connection on his Xbox was dropping etc.

Anyway.... it comes with 2 x plugs and we go it up and running yesterday. However .... it still dropping!!

    We have done the following

    1. Plugged each plug directly into wall socket - so no extensions or adaptors being used
    2. Done resets on both plugs etc by holding down the reset buttons etc

They stay up for 5 minutes and then drop again!!

Anyone out there using same with any tips????

I have an EIR F2000 (??) router..... do I need to access same to allow them onto network???

Are the homeplugs dropping or the internet itself? It sounds like the issue may be your actual connection.

If you've three greens on the plugs that should indicate they arent your issue.

    Thanks for replying....

Never had a problem in past .... jusr recently son is on Xbox live on COD and now complaining. We have been running a 20 foot Ethernet cable from router in the hallway up the stairs to his room and this is perfect for him. Hence buying the plugs as the 20 ft lead is a fecking hazard for the rest of the family!!

Good point on Internet..... maybe I should ask Eir to run a check on the line.

On using the plugs.... I get all three lights up but the top one goes flashing amber every so often and makes son frustrated!!

If ethernet works then the issue is the plugs. Google powerline adapter tips for advice.
