I drove past the airport on the road alongside the runway during the week. It was lashing and a gale blowing - all in all a most unpleasant day ) and still saw some photographers standing on the hill armed with their cameras.

I really don't know if everyone who looks at the photos appreciates what these people endure for our pleasure.

May I take this opportunity of thanking You all for Your wonderful efforts. And hope an A380 or another rarity lands to give You much pleasure during 2018. And a Happy New Year to You all.

It’s happened 3-4 times I think in last week or so

I read on their website during the week, that they now fly 16 times/week between Dublin & Dubai.

Incredible considering that when Gulf pulled out, nobody flew between Ireland & the ME and (guessing ) up to 25 per week now. Surely the LH's, BA's AF etc must have suffered as a consequence.

35 times a week. 2 daily Emirates and Etihad and single daily qatar. Doubt others have suffered as they’ve all increased frequency and capacity since.

I flew the Qatar A340-600 from London to Doha about 10 years ago and still is the best airplane i've flown on.

The seats where huge and it had so much legroom.

@Irishrover, I think that you might find the seating in the above aircraft to be slightly different from the airline:)

I saw the Qatar 340 being towed across the apron on Wednesday morning. She’s a fine looking bird.

Any of our resident spotters at EIDW. I was coming off the M50 at J5 Finglas today at approx. 1515, when there was an aircraft taking off. I only got a quick glance at it as I was going around the spiral on the exit, but both myself and my passenger were of the opinion it was a B744. It didn't come up on FR24, but was anyone out there today that can tell me we were right, or that we should both make an appointment for Specsavers. There was an AFR A318, and a Norwegian 73M going out behind it.

    Thanks
