The 1.0 mpi - in both 60 and 75 ps versions (which really feel the same, the difference is above 5000 rpm) - is a dull yet solid offering. It will not blow the hat off - or anything else - but will keep one going for a penny. It warms up very fast and it is not unusual to see 5
even in city driving. Those engines are simple and I haven't heart anything going bad with them.
However the rest of the car is not the best... It might look solid when new, the interior ages very fast and fills with rattles. Noise dumping is horrible. There are also some design issues with water management.
Second generation Hyundai i20 1.25 84 ps will not only be more nippy, but also bigger. And will not consume much more fuel. I think they fixed the oxi-cat melting with the second gen too.0 -
