Alts are tanking now looks like they are going to get a right hammering over the next few days. The selling of the Alts is all that is proping up Bitcoin at the moment.
Welcome to the Crypto currency rollercoaster!!

Welcome to the Crypto currency rollercoaster!!

For those of us arriving at the party late, I look forward to keeping an eye on when said rollercoaster reaches a deep trough for an opportunity to hop on board.

Actually yes, over the next few days if you were eyeing up some long term investments it will be the perfect time to buy back in

does anyone have particular targets in mind to buy back in ?

I'm thinking of setting orders at every $500/$1000 on the way down from $13000 ?

Or should I just sit tight and see if it will hit $10k or lower ?

Don't try and catch a falling knife, they say. I'd wait to see a couple of days of uptrend at least before buying in. Don't worry about missing catching the bottom.

Won't be buying back today anyway. We will be looking back on a dramatic Friday once Europe closes this evening and the US closes tonight.

Could be the last working day for professional traders. With the tax year ending there may be a desire to finalise positions.

    Why?

So for crypto's like Iota and Modum who have a lot of interest in relation to their tech their prices have fallen significantly overnight.
If you buy now with a view to hold there is a good chance it will go back up

Thank you Coinbase for delaying SEPA transfer :D

Seeing some mad stories over on Reddit. Hoping there's some Walter Mitty internet BS going on!
Well my dumbass took out a loan for 10k to invest. Yup I wanted to get rich quick and yes I'm getting my ass kicked right now for being greedy.

On the bright side I got a $4k annual raise this month which is part of the reason why I took out the loan. To think on Monday my account was up $700. Well I'm gonna get ****ing **** face drunk tonight

****. I don't think I'm made for day trading. I was profiting until I bought 86k at 18600 thinking it was gonna go up.

    🤪

If it offers any reassurance, you can get a bit of peep ahead by checking in on the CBOE futures prices here -

It's hard to think that many on reddit are being in any way serious and I think a lot of people on both sides are just trolling. You also know that half the HODL people have about $50 dollars worth.

It's a fun read though, the forum is just complete insanity all round.

This is a genocide gentlemen. Total wipe out. Hope some of ye followed my advice the other day and got off the streets before the Bitcoin Butcher arrived in town.

Too dangerous to jump back in yet. I'll wait till Cryptmas has passed and reassess. Lot of wise men are holding gold, frankincense and mir this year and dumping bitcoin! Meanwhile, the shepherds are leading more blind sheep to the slaughter organised by bitcoin jesus. Judas In wall Street is cashing out for 30 pieces of silver.

Do you time your posts to make yourself look as dumb as possible. A genocide? It's up 4k in the last 4 hours.

    Twas the night before Christmas,
    and all through the house,

A bit melodramatic, it's not that bad out there. I stopped trading 6 months ago as it was just getting crazy out there. I just had a look at my buy orders from back then, €30 for LTC and XMR, €1900 BTC. And they were realistic at the time. Things have just gone a bit silly too fast in recent months.

Right!!...who wants to explain candlesticks to me

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,711 ✭✭✭EagererBeaver

Each stick is a specific time period.

Green. Closing price higher than opening. Bottom of the "thick bit", the candle, is the opening price, top is the closing price.

Red. Closing price lower than opening. Top of candle is the opening, bottom is the closing.

The wicks (the lines coming out of each stick) represent the highest and lowest price point for the time period.

In the last 24 hours Binance has given me some small amounts of IOTA, NEO and Stellar Lumens (small as in 0.000003 BTC's worth in total). I haven't held any of these currencies before, and they're not showing up in my deposit or trade history. What's going on??

It could be seen suspiciously tbh - i.e. start people off with other currencies so if they cash out their BTC they move the money into something else. If there's a big selloff I would be extremely worried about the solvency of these exchanges, and certainly would not be comfortable holding USDT.
