Is there anywhere I can just pop in and get a free sim? don't want to wait for delivery at this time of year.

I think the days of free sim cards are gone. Most stores seem to encourage and require you to buy credit as well.

The only option might be to get a free Lycamobile SIM Card, but then you're stuck with them, and that's not a great outcome.
