Taximen who can’t figure out when to turn on and off their taxi sign light. They have two things to remember to do when they pick someone up, start the meter and turn off the light. They never seem to forget the former for some reason... The amount of times I find myself waving at a taxi with its light on and then see passengers inside as it passes by. Even worse is when the taxi man gives me the “what the hell are you hailing me for” gesture.

Is it just pure laziness, absentmindedness or is there some other reason for this behaviour?
