Surely it counts when you're buying the crypto in the first place. You would get x% more buying the crypto on one of the other exchanges, gdax for example.

You can't withdraw or spend crypto from Revolut yet so the actual rate doesn't matter as long as it tracks the same dips and rises.

Have you compared GDAX and Kraken for example? There's about €800 difference right now.

    GDAX - 1 BTC = €14,242.52

    Revolut - 1 BTC = €13,543.75

So because there's a massive spread between other exchanges, it's not a valid point that there's a massive spread on Revolut?

You think once full spend/cash-out functionality is available their rates will improve?

Now that I look at it, I really can't see what's wrong with the rate, Revolut is actually cheaper than GDAX right now??

Quick question on the paypal default currency conversion options for your cards...

Of course it's best to get billed in the sellers currency when using your revolut card on paypal, but I take it it's best to use this option on a Bank of Ireland card too?

Depends on the BofI and Paypal exchange rates and fees.

Yeah, fair enough. I thought they were being tight on both the buy and sell valuations.

Yeah of course the rates will vary but is there a general consensus that it's best to be billed in the sellers currency even with an Irish card?

It's mostly for purchases in sterling to euro.

It always seems like Paypal was having a laugh with exchange rates and/or fees.

Yeah, always pay in the sellers currency.

PayPal, Amazon etc. Will always be doing the best for themselves leaving you feeling a bit screwed

I have one of these Perfect Incentive cards on the way, did you have to do anything special to get it to work?

Nope. Just ignore the warning about use card currency to avoid fees. I topped up in euros. Was charged nothing for doing it. Money now on way to bank account so now I don't have to spend on crap I don't need :D

Two translation made from my Revolut card to worth almost 400 pounds by Amazon Uk retail but Amazon have no record of it. Revolut giving me auto replies via support - I have frozen the card. Any suggestions how to proceed with this to get the money back?

Did you make orders for that amount on Amazon? If they are pre-authorisations, they will drop off in 5-7 days and you'll get the funds back

Get onto their Twitter account and communicate via DM...much faster than the Chat support via the app.

If it works out that the money is with Amazon and you need it back into your Revolut account (and not wait the 5-7 working days) to proceed, then insist that Amazon give you an authorization code for the funds to be returned.
They will email you the code (instantly) and simply screenshot the email and give it to Revolut via Twitter DM, and the money will be returned- again instantly.

Nope, have rang Amazon and they cannot find anything.

Also they are completed transactions and not pending.

Will contact Revolut on Twitter. Have called Amazon but they have no record of those charges although it clearly says Amazon Uk retail.

There are no orders for those amounts. I just got a call from Amazon again saying to contact Revolut to initiate a charge back as they have checked with their payments teams and have no record of those transactions.

Could it be someone buying you a present but using your card? Like a family member?

My sister had a £1 transaction on her AIB bank card last week from Amazon EU even though she doesn't have an Amazon account, she contacted her bank and was advised to cancel her cards and order new ones.
She asked me if there was anything suspicious on my accounts as I regularly use Amazon so I checked all my bank accounts and I logged into all my bank accounts and there it was on my Revolut from the same date and time as her transaction for £1.
I immediately emptied my Revolut so they couldn't take any more.
A guy in Work got done for €1000 in 4 or 5 different transactions all down as Amazon transactions also.

I've just signed up to Revolut, there was a bit of a queue.

Any advice on the simplest way to lodge funds/EUR. I plan to put a few quid in bitcoin etc and forget about it.

Debit card is the fastest and easiest way without any fees.

Credit card is a 1% fee.

Bank transfer is also free and easy but takes a bit longer... 1-2 days for me.

Ten thousand apologies if this was covered before. I couldn't find it. Basically I'm new to Revolut. Opened an account recently and tried to top up via standard bank transfer from Permanent TSB's Open24 to SEPA details of my Revolut. The value of transaction is 15 euro and it hasn't appeared on my Revolut yet. I wonder how long does it take to complete the transfer. Appreciate any suggestions especially from those in similar PTSB-Revolut situation.
I deliberate didn't want to top up by card, is this a faster way for money to appear on Revolut?
Thanks and fifteen thousand apologies again.

I use PTSB. But I use my current account card to top up. It’s fairly instant for me.

I made a withdrawal for €20 today. Got charged .12 cent “Irish stamp duty for cash” what’s up with that does anyone know?
