Several people were injured Monday morning when a device exploded at the Port Authority bus terminal on 42nd Street, according to law enforcement sources.

One person is in custody after his device partially detonated inside a tunnel, sources told The Post.

Police and firefighters have responded to the scene, where the bomb squad also has been deployed.

The NYC Office of Emergency Management said commuters should expect delays.

There was no immediate word on what prompted the response between Eighth and Ninth avenues.

Lot of Irish in Manhattan of course living and on holiday this time of year. Very little info thus far.

"Small pipe bomb" according to ABC news. Suspect in custody.

Hope not obviously, but with these things, you always fear it's the first of a series of events

    Looks fairly minor thank god.

I had to pour hot water over my friend's car windscreen this morning so he could drive me to the Dart station

Minor explosive suspect already detained according to reports

Would you please have a bit of decency and respect?

You could do serious damage to your friend's windscreen by pouring hot water on the frozen-over glass.

Luke warm water in future, or you could find yourself walking to the Dart station not before long.

I suppose in your mind that sounded funny.

I'm just trying to point out what a bloody non event this is, in a city 1000s of kilometers from here.
There were probably 100s of Americans shot dead over the weekend, why no thread about them?

Likewise, on my part, it's not funny at all. But these comments are no more useless than the early, speculative posts which normally cover these threads as information is scarce.

    Speaking of which...

Reports at the moment say that the bomb went off prematurely as the person-in-custody was transporting it.

There's a good chance this might be one of them no good dirty Muslim cnuts though, we have to take every opportunity we get.

Pipe bomb in a fairly major city is a pretty big deal.

It's really odd that they went for a pipe bomb. Doesn't seem like ISIS regular attacks, but thankfully they've managed to capture the suspect alive, so they'll learn why he did it.

Reports saying he had a second explosive, so could have been much much worse.

Worth pointing out that where the attack happened is supposedly among the busiest transport hubs in America.

The nuance in this post will get lost in this thread so you'll probably get carded and banned.

But I see what you did there. Well played.

I really wouldn't be surprised if it's in retaliation for Trump and Jerusalem.

Plus the assumption is that the bomb went off earlier than expected, since the bomber got injured.

    Pipebomb in NYC?
A bit more than a "bloody non event"

He/she started a thread about this as obviously he has interest/concerns/ulterior motives. Id be interested to know what happened though.
You should start a thread on these other killings as you seem excercised by them.

I don't mind getting my hands dirty for a clean conscience.

On topic though, it seems like this could have been a lot worse this morning.

If the bomb was strapped to him (Sky News) and went off and he’s fit to be arrested, then he needs to write a strongly worded letter to whoever made that bomb.
    Possibly himself.

    Detonator went off, bomb didn't.

Still needs to write a letter of complaint though. :)

Depending on how it was wired, he'll probably have to dictate the letter.

Two explosions according to a friend near the sites. Boards jokes are tasteless as usual.

''******* was supposed to go into Manhattan today to interview for an internship but she backed out at the last minute because she suddenly felt unsure about the job. Last night a pipe bomb exploded in a subway passageway underneath the Port Authority Bus Terminal that resulted in several injuries. An hour ago another one exploded and the bus terminal is being evacuated. ******* would have taken the bus to the Port Authorityl and walked down that corridor to the subway to get to the office for the interview this morning if she hadn't cancelled. I'm actually shaking.''
