Ekbard examines the floor where the statue landed that caused a click noise, keeping an eye on the central statue to make sure the flailing is keeping it down.
He notices a removable stone slab.

Ekbard wedges the slab across with his sword.

A door between two of the alcoves swings open. Behind the door is the start of a spiral stone staircase. There is no breeze from the stairs, but a slight stale smell.

Othegre stats examining the rubble and dead orcs for salvage because she just never learns...

The Orcs have little to their name. However the eyes of the statues are gems worth in total 600GP.

While othegre searches, Ekbard takes over central statue bashing duty.

OOC: is this statue still attempting to reasemble itself?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,558 ✭✭✭✭Fourier

The central statue finally disintegrates, it is pure stone and leaves nothing of worth behind, its regeneration could not keep pace with Ekbard's mighty blows.

Ekbard sighs and relaxes just a little.

Ekbard throws a dead orc corpse into each empty alcove.

Othegre pockets the statues' eyes, then has a look at the wall that used to be a doorway, looking for a way to open it. She pounds on it and calls
"Betty! Use the Dwarf as a battering ram!"

When the final Orc lands in the last alcove, a click is heard once more.

The slab between the first and second rooms slowly lifts.

"Good to see all of you again" cheers Betty with a smile on her face.

"Hey gang, I'm glowing to see all of you again too."

"I fear that those rusty weapons may be booby trapped, is there any in our party that can check to make sure, before i stumple ahead and examine them myself, I might find a superior sword to protect you all among that bunch, but I thought a bit of due dilegenge would be forthcoming, rather than me dying from some poisonous trap left here by the evil dark lord. I'll do the attempting, just would like someone smarter than this oaf to check before I go stumbling ahead and getting poisoned"

Betty leans against the wall. "I'll fix myself, thank you for your concern Nerosian, but I have this...", she pulls out a vial and chugs it down.

Her flesh begins to knit together...

" Betty, how in the name of the 27 gods did you know I hail from Neros?"

'Aye lad. Ye nearly got yerself killed the last time ye went searchin.'

Bandylegs checks the weapons for traps.

Othegre wheels around, hand on the hilt of her flail, looking for The Oaf. But there's no one there. She chuckles then says "nah, Simon... no, I'm sure he'll be fine. I think it's just the pressure getting to him."

At the mouth of the tomb, shoved into a crevice in the wall is a chest containing all the pickings the troll has collected over the years from those naive enough to attempt a raid of the tomb.

Within the Chest Goodie can see:

    2 GP

Three large green gems (225 GP)

A princesses evening jewelery (1,200 GP)

Three vials containg potions granting speed, longevity and temporary use of the ESP spell.

At the bottom lies a bastard sword, sharper than usual and of superior make, that glows brightly.

    OOC: Everybody gets 1,425 XP

    Goodies eyes gleam with delight
he takes the sword and belts it on immediatly and pockets the treasure he drinks the speed and lonegvity potions and waits to see if he feels different .

Elin stands in the doorway of the statue room and checks for traps.

[OOC: do I need to roll?]

Ooc: LL hidden roll, you're not to know difference between no traps and failed search.
Oh, maybe thieves are different, if so, then ignore above.

Bandylegs looks around at the carnage caused by the statues.

'Apologies, lads, I was off in me dwarven daze again. This place seems to be doin' that to me more than usual.'

He notices the door swung ajar from Ekbard pressing the switch.

'Have we everythin' we need? Somethin' tells me once we go down those stairs we might ne'er see the sun rise again. Those who haven't prayed to their gods, should do so.'

Bandylegs has a moment of quiet worship before he carefully steps into the second room with the statues. He checks the room for anything unusual.

Othegre notices Elin standing in the doorway. She points at the rubble all around the room.
"I'll save you some time hon. There! There! There! There! There! But don't worry"
She slaps her fist loudly into her palm,
    "They've been...uh... defused!"

She notices Goodie stuffing his face and pockets with the spoils of their fight.
"Take the chest too! You could wear it on your back like a turtle."

In a quiet corner she tries for guidance but her charm is still unable to settle on a glyph. She instead tosses a coin repeatedly while waiting for the group to move on.

[OOC: Thieves have a roll for trap checking. Not sure if there was a point in me rolling for it seeing as how ye've set off all the traps in this room though. Lol.
Might be an idea to assume that Elin does a quick scan for traps in every room we approach from now on. Four can roll for me if I'm not here.]

Betty thinks a bit and pulls the cloak out, placing it on the ground. It bears the symbol of a black eye in front of a grey castle.

"Don't feel like having it now" she says.
OOC: Has Betty just left the Cloak of Tzmuwhatever and moved on?

OOC. Sounds like it. And it sounds like you didn't say DIBS!
    Dibs!

Saeros folds the cloak and stuffs it into his backpack, thinking that he must get one of the priestly types to cast a Detect Evil spell on it sometime.

OOC: I know not what this DIBs means. Some arcane lore perhaps? /Innocently ignores any previous claims to ownership of said cloak.
