Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Celebrating my return to the big league with a well earned win

Started with a win over The Craggy Islanders. That's all that matters. About 14-15 wins to safety :p...

Opening day win for myself aswell.

Opening day win over Lemlin. Remember when beating him used to mean something! :D;)

7 behind dahat with his Jesus Vs Aguero, Kompany and KdB.

I'd like to think I've a shot in this one....

The Conmandos were a bit groggy on the opening day of the season, they will return!

Leading Walnut Wanderers by 9 pts. His KDB versus my Kun. I'm in a good position but it's not over yet, we've seen bigger gaps overturned.

I can only see it ending one way unfortunately. On the plus side, Aguero is in my draft team.

Well a goal for KDB and a Kane from Aguero and you wouldn't be far off ;).

I'm off the mark anyway, three points in the bag despite a decidedly average gameweek.

Think I had the highest losing score last week and look like doing the same again this week. :(

Aguero was Kaney but KDB too. Good for me ;).

In the end, Bailly made the diff on his own between us. We'd have drawn if you'd have owned him instead of Valencia or vice versa.

Thankfully avoided a second defeat in 2, beating the Cavan commanders this week. Averaging 1 in 2 in this league is the overall minimum aim, a better season than that means challenging up at the top of the table to be King of FSA instead of King of SFA.

A little less than that. 15-16 wins were enough to save your position in the past 3 seasons ;).

    2 from 2 a good start.

    3/3

A good start being defending champion, start this season has been decent all round.

3 from 3 for me as well, unfortunately it's the West Ham kind of 3 from 3 rather than the Man Utd kind!! Firmly rooted to the foot of the table on my debut in the Premier league, need to turn things around quickly.

Wow! Over 3 months without a single post in here !

Well, this league is the only bright light in my season so far.... Actually I just checked and thought with my totally unexpected win at the weekend I'd be better ...

Only 6 pts ahead of safety... About 8-9 wins away from real safety.

It’s very tight, I led for a few weeks but a shocking two game weeks saw me lose top spot,
I’d absolutely love to win it, I’ve been there or thereabouts a couple of times.

Having a good run in this. Bizarrely now on exactly the same h2h points and overall FPL points to Busts who got a green arrow with a loss as a result. :)

Pretty sensible this year until last 4 weeks. Have let my Team Value go to shït too.

On a good roll in this league at the moment, 1 loss in 10 has moved me into 1st. Ditching Kane has worked so far but might finally catch up on me this week, I think I'm the only one in the league without him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,022 ✭✭✭✭Iused2likebusts

A narrow 1 pt win over swiper to move up to second.

I went on to loose my next 2 matches after the above post to make it 5 losses from 5 however since then i’ve had 7 wins 1 draw ( Salah’s clean sheet costing me the win against Lemlin today!) and 3 defeats to move mid table. It’s very tight with only 6 pts seperating 7th and 16th before this week.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,262 ✭✭✭iroced

A vital good min this GW to stay in mid-table mediocrity. Matches my mediocre season so far :P . That said, have no pb with mediocrity in this league since it'd mean safety comes GW38 :D.

7 or 8 wins to go now ;). With 20 GWs to go, that doesn't look unreachable but it's always harder than it seems.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,548 ✭✭✭✭CSF

I’ve recently crawled from bottom spot into mid table mediocrity. I’ll take that.

4 defeats in the last 5 games and I'm getting in trouble. 16th and the gap to the first relegated team closing down on me (7 pts now ; was about twice that not so long ago).

Betrayed by my defense this GW with a complete no show (in both senses). Had Gomez & Christensen featured, I'd have won, even one of them could have been enough...

My defense's becoming a big pb though. I'm gonna have to invest differently into more secure players. e.g. Selling Otamendi in GW12 was maybe the right thing to do but I should have brought him back.

My 8 week winning streak sees me in 1st for now. Going to do a Leicester and celebrate that at least I shouldn’t be relegated at this stage.
My climb up the table coincides with a GW12 rank of 626k to a current 4K ranking over the past 8 weeks
Would love to maintain a top 10k for the season

Nice work but you should be aiming for top 1k now. You have all your chips left so no reason why you can't. You're not gonna win this league though so give up on that!

Another defeat on its way. Concerning times :o...

Lost my first 5 matches in this league and feared I was in for a quick return to the championship, however since then I've been on a very good run with only 4 losses in the last 19 GW's, up to 4th now and only 3 points off the top.

More importantly I've now gone over the magic 40 pts so should be safe here for another season!

40 is not enough. These last year safety was achieved 'round 47-48 points. But you're not far from it ;).

3 defeats in a row sees me bow out of the top 4 'conversation'. In those 3 weeks I've run into 2 BBs and a FH!

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,022 ✭✭✭✭Iused2likebusts

Two wins in a row has secured my safety .

I had a nice lead in this a few weeks ago but have lost 5 of the last 7 games. It's a pity we aren't meeting in the last gameweek to decide the title!

I’ve not given up all hope yet but i would need you to lose your last 2 matches!! 2 narrow defeats in gw34 & 35 cost me my chance at winning.

Is this the fourth year of this great competition? How many founder members will be there next year? Looks like a lot of the same names, are the promoted teams falling away again, not able to hack it with the big boys :pac:
