BT I'd say - IOL were bought by Esat who were bought by BT. Vodafone subsequently took over BT's domestic broadband service but I don't know if that included the email service.

Domain name is registered to BT Ireland anyway. Mail server looks like it's BT (ESAT) managed too.

    Thanks.

Shame they wouldn't reply to an email or a question on their Twitter feed, over 2 weeks now waiting on a reply from them.

Bad form from them. I've been curious for a few years as to why they've kept it running, I'd have thought they'd have dropped it a long time ago.

I have an account with them but I've mostly moved away from it. I had an issue with a site I held an account with through my iol address; someone did a password reset which they managed to complete, i.e they had managed to get into my iol email to complete the password reset process with the site.

No major issue, the account they got access to wasn't that important, and nothing of note from them to access in the email account thankfully. No way to change the password on the IOL email that I've found. I've been meaning to contact them to see if they can just close the account altogether.

On a side note, seeing this post reminded me of an old Oceanfree email account I had 30 years ago.... I just tried to log into it there and low and behold it's still there and working :)

That's the exact issue I'm having, no password reset option so I just want the account shut down.
