I'm more worried about Barry O'Hanlon's detention since 2011 without trial.

Death by door is such a serious offence that you don't get a trial!

Frighteningly, few people know this.... Not even a lot of Dubliners, but Carrigstown is a tiny sovereign Dictatorship which declared its independence from Dublin sometime back in 1989..... They have no proper justice system, so poor Barry or Dermot will never get a trial, as they don't believe in that sort of thing. It's more than likely that poor auld Barry was executed by flamethrower in the courtyard of Carrigstown's only prison behind its high walls, who knows? All we know is that we'll never see him again.....:eek::eek: Does anyone else notice how they never chat about politics or the state of the country as we know it? That's because they have no Democratic system, and none of the parties which we are familiar with rule the Nation..... It's presently ruled by a dictator who was once an Aussie soap star, and they have only one political party which is simply called....''The Party'''... Dermot, Seamus Whatshisname and a creepy looking fella called Virgil were all members of ''The Party'' at one stage, so Dermot, owing to his past allegiance, has every chance of bouncing back onto our screens in a while; no consequences, no questions asked.... People also disappear off the face of the earth, and reappear a few months later, no explanation given. The Nationals of the Nation of Carrigstown themselves say it's a great place to live. You can recover without any proper psychiatric care or psychological counselling or treatment from being kept in a box for a year, and to make up for your harrowing experience, you're given your captor's former flat as compo for ''pain and suffering caused''. (And you can take your pick of livers if ever you need a transplant, and then make a full recovery, despite being told there was eff all hope for you) You can also fleece your mam of her life savings and you're easily forgiven and face no consequences whatsoever. And cults are booming there, so if that's your thing, you should move there, as you'd be spoilt for choice! You can also find work really easily and get hired to do jobs which you are not qualified to do, then leave that job and take up something new; again, you're not qualified to do that either.... And they put something in the drinking water that severely lowers your intelligence (it also enables you to do the nasty while wearing your tights) makes you want to leave your husband who you were all loved up with after a year of marriage, and want to get back with your ex who you barely spoke to in the course of that year; a fella who was into another girl, then came over all crazed with lust for you out of the blue..... Worse than the Wild West, that place..... :D:D:D:p:p:p

I actually dont mind the pacing of the cult storyline because its still an interesting story, I'm guessing Doug is going to have an unfortunate accident soon if he keeps sticking his nose in...maybe this new guy is a sniper.

Great, Ama is back to drag out the pointless and boring Raymond-Kerri Ann-Decco crap until Paddys Day next year, just what we all want to see.

Is there any point to Nicola without Niamh? Seems a complete rehash of ancient storylines if you ask me.

I still can't quite believe that Niamh is gone without a proper send off. It's really odd.

I'm starting to think her departure isn't as final as they've made it out to be, I think she might be back next year, after a stint on a certain dancing show perhaps.

Maybe they realized they had nothing left to do with her character. If so, I hope Paul, Carol and Delores are worried.

How many more times will a parent abandon their child(ren)? Judith Dillon abandoned a teenaged son, Jo abandoned Ben and zoey and now Neeah has abandoned young Ruthie. FFS like

I hate these stupid distracting storylines in FC that run side by side with the better ones. This Kerry Ann story is the worst one at present and will lead to nothing in the end.

Pointless storylines from the past include the Condors basketball one which was annoyingly included alongside the superior Cathal/Flynn and the hotel storylines. The worst story of all remains for me the Orla and the screeching baby one. Not only was that a very bad story but it was the main one for a few episodes too.

The cult story is interesting. It is hard to figure out Miriam and who is good and bad here. Oakley has been off the hook now and they are not developing his character and his official Phoenix Way group has not been focused on. Miriam seems to be possessed by being in it and members are likely to increase in numbers. Charlotte will get more involved I predict and Katy will see it as the thing that got her life back on track.

So what's the status of Niamh? Paul in the restaurant kitchen is a good laugh and of course, he is suddenly an expert regarding the food business. Niamh seems to have just gone to work in Fiji without telling Paul who she went with. Assumption is Paul believes she will return.

She must be having a great time in Fiji with her lover and Paul hasn’t a clue about the details or anything about the job, makes no sense.

I don't get what some people here enjoy about the " cult storyline" from what I've seen it's just a bunch of people hanging out in the o brain's sitting room saying and doing very little, it looks more like lite hippy nonsense rather than any kind of sinister cult.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 92,394 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

Miriam should take out a restating order against Douglas!

Doug seems more deranged and loopy than Miriam and her posse, I don't understand his need to keep trying to stop Miriam considering Hannah turned him down and was clearly blunt on more than one occasion

When you consider how completely and utterly the character of Emmet has changed in the last year its remarkable how influencing Manson and her way of thinking is. Emmet used to be a typical scumbag who listened to nobody and within a short few months he has morphed into Mansons second hand man, handing over his cash and doing everything he is told, that's brainwashing in my book.

Then you have poor Hannah who was nearly killed, the fact that they covered it up and used drugs suggests Phoenix Way wants to be a more aggressive form of brainwashing akin to Scientology. Then they put poor Katy up in a cottage in Donegal, filling her mind with mantras and psychology about how to think differently. Sounds exactly like a cult, one with I hope an interesting direction.
