Was just about to pull trigger and I said I'd better measure it, luckily I did. Its 1360mm wide by 835mm high. The legs would be floating in air with my tv unit...

That's the diameter from corner to corner it's actually 1237 mm wide.

I just picked it up and it just about fits on my tv unit

Guys, because of previous issues on threads code swapping for Argos is not allowed on the forums.

Continuation may result in a ban.

Will have to look at a more suitable unit long term but for now it's fairly sturdy

In the short term something like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qm7b4wMnbVo may work

Keep in mind I've never used one of these so not sure how useful they are.

I think I have found a cheap solution to your problem.A universal pair of feet that fit to the Vesa mounting holes on the back of the TV.£20 on Amazon UK.

Thanks OP and everyone involved in this thread, I picked up one in Castlebar today, and yes I did inquire was there any more, and no it was the last one!!. I saw this thread yesterday morning and checked Sligo, Athlone and Castlebar and no stock. I rang Argos customer service, but they could not tell me anything only try again from 8 Dec onwards. They can tell a lot really, so I did not have much hope. i was killing a few mins yesterday afternoon sitting in my car in a car park, so I checked same three stores again and what do you know a text reservation number came from Castlebar and a message saying i will get a text when it arrives in store. Then I get a text this morning at 11.36 saying my tv is now ready for collection, so I rang the store to confirm it was there and they said yes it is!!. So my advice to anyone reading this thread is keep trying to reserve it evey now and again even though it says 'no stock'!! I haven't taken it out of box yet, so I cant comment on size, picture quality etc, but I have been watching prices of 55' LG's for two months and this is the best price by well over a E100, and as a previous poster pointed out it is E800 in power city, and they have a lot of them in stock!!

How easy is it to flip between Saorview and Freesat on these LGs?

It's a misprice and dont judge it on the 49 or lower size reviews as they arent at the same quality level - the specs change for the 55. The same applies to the 634 modelS around the usual outlets for 640 or 650 - this model is a step above those.
Check the detailed specs comparison on the LG website. You'll also see this same model at European sellers for 800+

I picked up one of these this afternoon in Cork (Blackpool). Haven't set it up yet as my tv stand is too narrow.I have ordered the universal feet/stand from Amazon that fit to the Vesa mounting holes.Link to this in my earlier post for anyone with the same dilemma.
I just opened the top of the box to see if the panel had been damaged,(there was a hole in the box).Thankfully everything seems to be ok.
The tv was on display in the Argos store,it looked very good displaying a snowy mountain scene.Very sharp and the black levels were descent enough too.
I was in two minds before deciding to purchase as I have a 42" Panasonic GT50 plasma that has most of the features of this LG, bar the 4k HDR.
Hopefully it will live up to my expectations and give as good a service as my 5 year old plasma.
I'm looking forward to setting it up and trying my PS4 pro on it.
Thanks to the OP for the heads-up.

I can answer later this evening. Just sorting out a connection from the dish to the tv.

Yes I agree , I was watching the prices of the UH 630/634/635V which are more or less the same tv as each other in 55, and this weighs in better spec and cheaper.I could have collected mine today for convience, but I made a special trip for it yesterday in case they put up the price this morning!.
