Are Virgin still using "Horizons boxes?
Are they still poor to use or did they dramatically improve in last 2 years?
If not, is there any sense of them replacing the box in the near future?

    Thanks in advance

Yes, though the name “Horizon” has itself been dropped as a brand now, it’s just Virgin TV.

They have introduced a new box, the V6 in the U.K., but there are contradictory reports as to whether it will be rolled out to other markets. But nothing lasts forever (I have seen NTL/UPC/Virgin go through three different STB platforms in fifteen years).

Fingers crossed a new box will come along soon. Sometimes I use the Virgin TV app on my iPhone to check the TV guide as the it’s a nightmare on the box itself.

It's still dreadful. You'll become very familiar with the factory reset option, constant lag, weird disappearing UI bugs, poor Netflix implementation and vanishing recordings.

No contradictory reports, just idle speculation by posters.

We arent getting the V6 box.

Still baffles me how bad the horizon box is. Gave Virgin a chance because of their broadband, but going back to Sky Q soon.

Getting 360Mbit consistently since install. It's brilliant. Never misses a beat.

We're on broadband with the white Hub modem.

Will we still get to keep that if we add TV or will we be forced to move to a horizon box?
