I replaced every single bulb in my 2008 b6 Passat including the heads, dips, sides, plates, reverse and all interior lights to led. But I have just noticed that when I start the car the outside leds flash when the car is starting even when they are not switched on, just wondering if anyone has had the same experience or if it means there is a problem somewhere or is it normal? They all work fine with the canbus system and aren't throwing up any errors.

My opinion is that the Body Control Computer was designed to send power to the original bulbs momentarily to check if there is a current draw - as a strategy to find blown bulbs and tell you about them in the MFS screen. With a bulb, the ramp up time is much longer then with a led, which is why you didn't see it until you fitted leds.
