    Hi guys,

My manager in work is buying a Passat CC in the UK and wants me to go over with him next week to collect it.

He has already paid a deposit on it so unfortunately the Ad has been taken down form auto trader :(

    details are as follows:

    2011 2.0 TDI BlueMotion Tech GT 140
    120k miles
    Full VW Service History
    Only 1 former Owner.
Black with two-tone black & cream leather interior
    6,750GBP

    Anything thoughts?

Is there anything in particular we should look out for, are there any issues these models are known for?

    Thanks

I had an exact car like that.

Get it up on a hoist and have a look around to make sure there is no oil leaks from the gearbox. Mine had a fracture in the gearbox at 65k km that leaked the transmission fluid onto the clutch plate which started slipping. Luckily VW UK replaced the gearbox, clutch and flywheel under warranty but I had to go to Belfast to get it done.

Other things at that mileage would be worn suspension parts, Passats like going through control arms. Make sure the air conditioning works properly as VWs back then had dodgy air conditioning compressors. Other things associated with that mileage would be worn flywheel and failing EGR valve.

Other than that they are a good car and mechanically the same as a regular Passat. 140bhp feels a bit lethargic so I'd look into getting it remapped as it suits those engines and even the extra 30bhp and torque makes a bit difference to how they drive.
