The price is unrealistic and the interior colour is not my taste but its a fine looking car.

3.5k no offers. If it was a 328i you might pay it, even a 323i but a 316i? Ah here..

It looks great I have to say.
Maybe 1.5k too much? I wouldn't be surprised if it's originality sells it.

My E36 is almost identical bar the engine which is a 2.5, 2/3 of the miles only 1 previous owner from new and has a genuine M3 GT wing which is worth a few bob in it's self. It cost me an awful lot less than 3.5k 6 months ago.

I can't stand when they use snapchat or instagram pictures to sell a car.

The wheels on both cars are horrendous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,920 ✭✭✭✭MetzgerMeister

Not the worst by a long shot.

As someone else pointed out this https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/toyota-corolla/17277714 is embarrassing.

I thought for a second it was the high power 1.8vvti engine variant. Its the boggo 1.4 vvti with a big exhaust.

    :pac:

Isn't the higher powered 1.8 the VVTLi? At least that's the way it was in the newer Celica.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,917 ✭✭✭✭Toyotafanboi

There's a 1.8 vvti and vvtli. The vvti is 140bhp and the vvtli is 190.

In the Irish market at least you couldn't get a Corolla with a vvti. It was all or nothing :pac:

Ive seen Australian corollas with 1.8 VVTi. Don’t think they sold them in the uk either.

Speaking of VVTLI's I thought this celica was a dreamer until I was told otherwise due to it being a limited edition. Am I wrong to think is it ?

I don't see the fascination with the Sport M vs a regular T-Sport but yeah I reckon he'll get that. A few Sport Ma's have changed hands in the last year in Ireland for more than that.

It has a tiny bit more bhp and a few extras more than a regular T-Sport but they aren't worth 4x the price IMO.

Has your man Dermot Wallace lost the plot with some of his prices or is there method to his madness ?

He has some fantastic yokes there but some fantastic prices to go along with them,

I thought with him being around a while he'd know his stuff

Yep Aussies had them, there is/was a sky blue one for sale in cork for around €800 Alloys, aircon, electric Windows and front fogs as standard seemingly so pretty alright for an e12

They had the front end from the saloon which looked a bit odd on the hatchback.

There's a few Australian model ones around Limerick called Corolla Ascent, they have the regular hatchback type front. I have seen the ones you're talking about though. Aren't they a JDM model? Corolla RunX? Neighbour had one about 7 years ago, think it was AWD.

Might have been a Australian version with the saloon front too of course.

Now that I've done some googling I'm even more confused tbh, but the jdm RunX definitely has the normal hatch front. Most have factory fitted colour coded eyebrows too.

I'm seeing pics of Aussie hatches with normal and saloon fronts, the ones with saloon fronts appear to be called a corolla Levin hatch and then the ones with the normal front are called a corolla ascent. Can't see why there'd be 2 different models unless one was built in Australia and the other built for export in Japan maybe?

No there's definitely an Australian corolla with the saloon front end as well. I have seen a few up on donedeal before and they had that 1.8 engine.

Yeah spot on I forgot about the 'L'

Here's an example of what I was talking about: https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/2005-price-drop-corolla-t-sport-new-phone-n/17103791

Not many of these left here. Always wanted one when I was a bit younger but so rare.

I never even knew they existed, that's a great little engine.

One the most undesirable cars ive ever seen advertised on done deal.

Literally the worst of all worlds. Ugly, petrol monster, high tax, not particularly spacious and that center console.... jesus wept.

Watch him drop the price down to €3k in a few months time.

Then why do I want it so bad :pac:

But more seriously, why is it advertised in the vintage section?

I think with a regular Auris front end and taillights it would look better.

    Still a 2.4l Auris though

I do like the leather* wrapped dash bits though. Rest of the interior is mank.
The blade looks ok in black. White doesn't suit it though.
