OOC: Hmm, actually I just drew out the map for myself. They're close range, sorry about that.

BandyLegs removes the zombie's nose with a swipe.

ekbard launches a javelin at one of the figures emerging from the treeline.

The javelin sticks firmly in the ground just 6 feet in front of Ekbard.

Ekbard mutters to himself "I should have practised throwing these things"

OOC: Sleep. If in doubt, sleep :P

Alexander sees the zombies and looks for something to take cover behind, leaving the fighting, for now, to the more physically abled fighters in the group.

Saeros slips from the back of the draught horse* to get better footing and I bring my spear to bear on the nearest zombie. I lunge forward striking towards the creatures head.

    OOC: Rolz 1d20 = 5, no modifiers. That'll be a miss then.

*My horse is called 'piph which is elvish for horse but coincidentally it's also the gnomish word for "Iain Banks has already used up all the best names for things."

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

OOC: Not a good round for the zombies! Their roles against Elin would have won, except for her Dex. Xanthea's guy did awful. And nobody could beat the tough dwarf's AC!

As five of the undead flee into the night, four of the remaining six converge on BandyLegs. The rest of the group see him disappear under a flurry of frenzied biting and scratching. However it takes more than that to take down a dwarf of clan McGillicuddy. Slowly everyone sees the zombies being pushed back and BandyLegs stands proud with not a scratch.

A lone zombie, until now sequestered in the trees makes a lunge at Elin having spotted her in the grass. Elin swiftly dodges to the right as the zombie's hand swings wide.

Xanthea then pauses and inhales a deep breath as her foe swings at her, no jaw left to bite with. As a trained fighter she instantly reels with the swipe, untouched.

As Elin dodges the zombie she drops her crossbow and draws her dagger from her sleeve. She slashes towards the zombie's neck in an attempt to relieve the monster of his head. [OOC: unlikely with a dagger but sure we'll give it a go!]

    Edit: Rolled a 10 on rolz. +4 for modifiers gives me 14. I think that's a hit? Rolled 2 on a d4 for damage

Bandylegs roars as he appears from underneath the four attackers.

'Ye'll have to try harder than that to hurt me, ya bastids!'

He swings his axe towards the zombie he had previously removed the nose from.

    Edit:
OOC: rolled 14 to hit and then 5 on a d6 damage :)

Ekbard double checks that he has equiped his sword and shield and then runs at the closest unhit zombie and swings his long sword at him/her.

"Get your damned dirty claws off my tiny acquaintance!"

Shield slung on her rein arm, Othegre spurs Clipclop towards the zombies around Bandylegs, her flail spinning.

Ooc - Not sure what I roll for mounted combat. Rolled a d20 just in case, got an 18.

OOC: That's a hit for Othegre, roll for damage.

Xanthea makes a graceful arcing motion, dodging the swipe from the rapidly disintegrating zombie, before unleashing a strike with her longsword...

    Rolls a 6... Brutal failure!

a modified 19 sends an arrow screaming into the zombie for 6 bamage

One of the zombies that had lunged at BandyLegs turns to begin another strike, moving faster than he expected. He braces himself for the fetid mouth to close on him when he hears a soft thud as the zombie is pierced through the brain by Goodie's arrow and collapses.

Another runs at him, with a manic look in its eye and grabs hold of BandyLegs. The creature has shocking strength and is on the verge of pushing BandyLegs over when a longsword slices right through its neck tendons, sending the head into the trees. BandyLegs sees Ekbard on the other side of the red mist of blood that had burst from the creature's neck.

The remaining two creatures make a direct strike on BandyLegs, but his armour takes the force and he remains unbruised.

Elin's knife sticks in the zombie's larynx, she forces the blade onward cutting through the neck as the head flops forward. The creature, almost unperturbed keeps moving toward her for a brief moment, but then collapses.

Xanthea's opponent stumbles forward with a mistimed slash, just grazing her thigh.

OOC: Xanthea 1 damage. Back to you guys.

Ooc - how many are left, who are they attacking and is the one I hit still standing? Also, can the Turned undead come back?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,558 ✭✭✭✭Fourier

Ekbard leaps forward through the mist of blood, onto the corpse of the zombie he just decapitated, springs off its back and brings his sword down hard on another of the undead splitting it from sternum to groin.

OOC: It's back, you have it until you fail it. There are only two now. One next to BandyLegs and one fighting Xanthea.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,263 ✭✭✭robyntmorton

Xanthea is angry now, and this jawless wonder is asking for it. She makes another lunge at it with her longsword...

    Rolls a 20! Boom headshot!

    Rolls 6 for damage!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,792 ✭✭✭Mollyb60

Elin kicks the zombie head into the nearby trees in disgust. She recovers her dagger and slides it back into her sleeve. She picks up her crossbow and heads back to find Horsey, giving all the zombies a wide berth and keeping a wary eye on her surroundings. She shouts over to Bandylegs; "How goes it Bandy? Do you need some help with those zombies?"

Xanthea swings her sword wildly, the zombie is eviscerated, reduced to a mushy stack of entrails and meat.

I step up and pull out my ring, brandishing my holy symbol to force the undead to flee. Until I lose my footing and drop my symbol.

OOC: Trying to catch up now, will post a spell and shopping list soon.

"I forgive you and give you peace!" Screams Othegre, swinging her flail at the closest zombie.

Ooc : I think I'm at the Bandylegs group, rolled 16, dmg roll 2.

The flail tears a chunk of rotten muscle out of it's leg.

"Uh... That was a warning shot! Don't make me count!"

The final zombie near BandyLegs sees no chance with the dwarf and begins to turn when Othegre's flail lacerates its leg. It then makes a pathetic lunge at Ekbard to no avail.

    OOC: Back to ye
