Ducting for phone line

I'm sure this has been asked before, but can't find it. I need to run ducting from the house to the road for phone line (eir). Is there a recommended spec./type for this? TIA

I used 2 1/2" water pipe for mine, roughly 60m long, no problems, was a handy enough to run the cobra through it for the rope, but i used the lube for wavin joints to help it along.
