I've moved to stage 3 in Clare, opened the application form today and its 26 pages long FFS. Need a copy of my leaving cert, that was 35 years ago..I can barely remember the subjects I did then. Is it possible to get a copy does anyone know. Also they only had A B etc then not A1, A2 etc, I don't know if the form accepts that. I'm in the 77 percentile, got an email in August about Limerick saying they were only calling 78 and above to stage 3

I ordered my leaving cert results for a different campaign from either cao or dept of ed in athlone this year. I think it was around 12euro

I didn't have a copy of mine so left that part blank and filled in the work experience section. Made sure to only mark 'eligible under work experience' in the eligibility section.
If I can remember correctly there is an education section further down where you can put in your leaving cert results.

Read the form again and I have a BA which I have a copy of so can use that instead

    Hi,

Yeah same here. I'm imagining everyone on the panel will probably apply so I'll probably not get anywhere. Worth a shot I guess.

hi I'm just wondering if anyone would have any insight into the difference between the clerical officer role in HSE and council. I currently am working in council but not in my 1st choice location and have recieved application form from HBS for a role with HSE in my 1st choice location. So i'm trying to decide if it is worth the move over as I currently work Monday to Friday flexi hours but I see in job spec for HSE it can include weekends and up to 8 at night so not sure the grass is greener. any advice or personal experience from anyone in HSE clerical officer role would be greatly appreciated

Are you on about a switch that you're considering is it or are you referring to this Campaign in the Thread?

What difference does it make if ya pick LC or College or prior Work Experience anyone know?!? Do ya get more marks on their Interview Assessment Sheet?!?

Wow really am very surprised at that! Have been told HSE Medicals Forms are really stringent, would have just presumed you would have to go for an actual Medical Physical Exam too!

for specified and permanent all I had was a form , I think if you are in contact with patients or samples there is blood tests (maybe) it said on my form to skip those questions. It was very easy

Yeah that’s true for patient contact roles you’ve to get various blood tests and vaccines such as hep b.

I had to do a medical for a temp clerical officer role, it’s just an eye test, no blood tests involved.

Blood tests only for roles such as hca, nurses etc...

Loads of expressions of interest coming through today for Kerry!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 221 ✭✭HDonal

So how does it work? Does everybody get the expressions of interest, or do you get them when they are near your rank on the panel?

Hey can anyone please tell me if there have been interviews for Longford/Westmeath yet. I got an email today saying I am moving forward to phase 3 and a competency form will be issued to me on Friday.

Just wondering how soon after the form is completed do interviews take place?

Someone can correct me on it but I think your placement on the panel could only come into play after you express interest? i.e. If two people express interest in one vacancy then the person placed highest on the panel gets first refusal?

I am through to stage 3 in clare but not sure if I want to go forward as have permanent position with local authority but not in Clare. This was my main reason for applying for the roles with HSE but now it looks like hours could be longer it says 8-8 and weekends on the job spec and less holidays for the same salary that I might be better off staying where I am. Just wondering if this is the case with working hours?

I am currently on a specific purpose contract from the last campaign and also in this competition. At present I do a 37 hour working week with flexi and 26 days AL

Ok thats pretty much the same do you have to do weekends?? and is the working day between 8-8?? I don't really mind working the weekends its more the late working that would be a problem.
there is so many different contracts aswell I'm very confused!!

Hi - no my hours are office hours 9-5 but I usually come in around 8-4-30 to do flexi . No mention of weekends at all . I must read the spec again cos I don't understand why It would be less holidays ext. I'm in CHO within the HSE maybe the contracts and holidays are all different? I'm also advancing to stage 3 cos at the moment I'm in Limerick and hoping to get Clare to cut out the travelling but if it's less holidays and more hours don t think I would take it !

this is the part in the job spec re hours and holidays. This is why I am a bit dubious about going forward I'm in limerick too and travelling from west Clare so Clare is definitly a better option but if this is true re hours etc I don't know if it will be worth it. Im on 27 days AL with flexi aswell working 8:30-4:30
