I noticed Will Leahy's show on RTE Gold had Whatsapp too. It must be the hot new thing in radio station land.

Did anyone hear the talk about Kevin Spacey on the Dermot & Dave show this morning, (with I think it was) Maria, it was bloody painful, "y'know" emmm y'know y'know emmmm y'know, It was like it was sprung on them and they didn't know what to say or do, had to change after a few minutes, it was just a nothing segment. and she's usually better than this.

Their show has gone to the dogs. It’s the same thing day in day out. Their mediocrity was highlighted by Joe Donnelly last week. He was a breath of fresh air compared to their drivel.

Couldn't agree more, Joe is sorely missed on the radio

    Joe deserves a weekday show.

Joe is good but his voice ain't. Sounds like he has milk stuck at the back of his throat all the time.:D

Thought he sounded boring and disinterested tbh.

I would ahve considered myself a Today FM listener from morning till night.. The lineup worked well and flowed through the day..

    Not so much any more..
When Anton left things took a tumble..

Iano holds his show together and is good listening..
Al Porter just doesnt work for me..
Dermot & Dave, well the show is becoming stagnant and repeditive, far too much plugging of their tour and talk about what happens about it..
Fergal Darcy is a "weekend presenter" being the most plesent term I can think of.. Muirren O Connel should have gotten that slot or better the Al Porter slot
Mat Cooper still holds a good show..

Its no wonder 2FM, the basket case it is, now has more listeners than Today FM..

What I would have done was have a 6:30am, 10am, 1pm, 4pm structure with Ian Dempsey, Dermot and Dave, Dara Quilty and The Last Word in that order.

What's the deal with their 80s style singing jingle ? Sounds very embarrassing.

We know. You've said it umpteen times

Dermot and Dave will be hoping that Ireland do the business tomorrow night so they can fill a month of 'bants' next summer.

I wonder how much they regret giving the lunchtime slot to Al Porter.

Moderator: Can people keep a lid on things until there's actually something in the open? There's a reason no media outlets reported on Weinstein until there was enough evidence.

They don't regret it at all. He's bringing in listeners for them.

I thought he dropped listeners in the last JNLR, having added some in the period immediately after his show started?

EDIT:- He's up on last year (before he started) but down on his last figures....."Al Porter, who has been with the station for seven months, has an audience of 118,000, which is a gain of 5,000 for that slot on the same time last year." https://www.independent.ie/entertainment/radio/jnlrs-sean-orourke-marian-finucane-see-biggest-drops-at-rte-radio-1-as-2fm-today-fm-newstalk-make-modest-gains-36263920.html

    Mod:
Yes there has been made some accusations against a presenter and no you can't discuss them because everything you post about the subject can, and will, be held against boards (and yourself if they decide to sue you) as libel until proven in court basically. Sucks for us but such are the laws of Ireland and unlike major news papers boards do not have an standing army of attorneys to deal with such legal cases. Hence a whole lot of deleted posts and bringing up the subject until further notice will lead to cards and bans.

I'd love to see Muireann O'Connell get the afternoon slot now. That All Porter is woeful. Hasn't a clue about music & other stuff is iffy too.

Foley will never go back there considering what they did to him last year. And he seems to be doing really well in cork.
