Does it definitely have to be Brixton?

As near to it as possible I guess, I'm heading to a gig there pretty much as the game finishes. Any suggestions welcome anyway!

The IRFU said earlier that the team announcement will be "at 1.45pm"

Which means we'll have it for you shortly after the announcement starts at 2.05pm

Which players are you talking about? Kearney and Dillane?

    Dillane, POM and Stander specifically.

Ugh. That sounds like a few injuries may be in store.

Well for Dillane at least the only comments made about him in the Connacht thread over the past few weeks are that he was lucky to be selected in the squad in the first place.

I'm not actually talking about provincial fans in particular at all. Plenty of Leinster fans have called for Heaslip to be dropped in recent times. It's more of a general statement than anything.

Bundee 12, henshaw 13 some combo in the right order. Looking forward to stockdale working with these two

    Good selection.

I'm hoping that POM and Stander can step up after quiet form since their return from the Lions Tour. SOB too after injury absences.

Circumstances aside, I'm delighted Andrew Conway is getting recognition of fantastic early-season form. Earls is a loss though, he's been incredible in the last 12 months or so.

As expected so. Pity Earls is injured. He really has been in great form. But looking forward to seeing how Stockdale gets on. Will also be a bit curious to see how the centre pairing goes at this level. POM and Stander have credit in the bank but both need to step it up big time. Also keen to see what James Ryan can bring off the bench.

Decent team that. Delighted for Stockdale, Conway and Sweetnam. And great effort by Healy to get the starting shirt back.

Can't argue much with that...do we know is McGrath dropped or injured?
Could Herring be ahead of him now?

Healy starting...he'll relish that. Can't wait to see how he goes. Maybe his time in the semi-wilderness is over.

So, any mention of Jack McGrath......injury or dropped?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Is Jack McGrath's absence injury related?

Edit: JS just mentioned a knock in training. McGrath hasn't been training fully.

Schmidt is talking about this now. Said McGrath missed training due to an injury but form was also a factor

McGrath injured but also hinting at a bit more. Felt South Africa too physical for him to come back into.

  • Administrators Posts: 55,145 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Might just be Schmidt keeping McGrath on his toes a bit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Sounds like softening the blow a bit for McGrath, to be honest.

    Absolutely.

Am I the only one a little worried? There a few forwards in that starting pack that are short of game time and/or form. And the back line is quite disjointed. The bench doesn't scream impact either. If the lads deliver to their potential then it's a strong selection, but there's a handful of players there that could struggle to for various reasons.
