I dunno if this is really the kid's name or not... he's only five days old. I know the dad is pushing for it and calling him by this name...

    Onix.

I just hope mum puts her foot down on that, but the kid is gonna have this nickname for life regardless.

    Yes, Pokemon mad dad.

Jeez, even I wouldn't go that far :pac:

I was going to say Laquanda or Deshaqua, but then I remembered D'Brickashaw Ferguson.

    D'Brickashaw...

They're all varying levels of ridiculous to me. "Freakonomics" authors Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner noted that "nearly 30 percent of the black girls are given a name that is unique among the names of every baby, white and black, born that year in California.

I know a Mateo, his dad is Spanish.

My friend works in a creche and she said there's a boy in there called Light. He has brothers called Titus, Brendan and Imreal.

Imreal (I'm real) is the greatest name I've ever heard.

Was in Tesco a few months ago and heard a man in the toys section speaking to his two young daughters, Tiger and Cheetah.

    Italian for Matthew isn't it?

Maybe so but on an irish kid with blonde hair and freckles the name hardly suits

His mother was a fan of the Thorn Birds, the character of Ralph de Bricissart, but she misheard the name...
    Seriously.

My aunt taught a boy called Guy....except when the parent/teacher meeting came up she discovered it was pronounced Gooey. The mother had read a book with GUY as the protaganist & liked the name :D

I think Brendan got off lightly.

I think your sarcasm detector needs adjustment.

The guy who plays Bill in Stranger Things is called Dacres - pronounced like "how many of D acres of land are road frontage bai?"

    Ugh.

One year my sister, a primary teacher, had a Sauvingnon and Chardonnay in her class.

Needless to say it was a Deis school.

I thought it would be a Blue Nun school.

    Ronnie.
    For a BABY.

And I've seen the name Ffion written down but how the hell do you pronounce it?

    Finbar.

I also read an article the other day where the mother had five children and they were called Orlando, Hennessey, Skylar, Benson and Jordannah.

Fee-on, I believe. It's Welsh. Nice, but pain in the ass having to spell it out all the time.

Don't see too many Adolfs or Lucifers these days. And Judas is declining in popularity as well.
