Since when did Morrissey become Rock?
Same as a lot of the Rubbish being played now on Nova.

About 6 years ago.....and they never intended to continue with the "rock" format...especially with the closure of TXFM....
Theyre no different than any other music station ..in Dublin anway..

Its called getting your foot in the door..dont blame Nova, blame the BAI....;)

We need a proper replacement for Dee Woods on Morning Glory I think. Ruth Scott or Nikki Hayes would be perfect

I used an older version of the app, where they don't geolock. It's a pain seeing as I can listen on Sky box or pc (if I put in a UK postcode) but the app won't work here and the TuneIn stream just hangs.

I would only employ them to make the tea. As DJs they are terrible - same wittering, different person. And they both come from pop only stations.

In saying that, the playlist restrictions Nova have in place means that it's going to change into another 2FM/Today FM clone before long.

Ireland is crying out for something different from the norm. We have the pop happy stations, the local stations are there with pop, country and phone-in shyte. We have classical and Gaelic stations. But to get rock we have to listen to foreign stations again. It's going back to the way things were when all the pirates were on the go. Even John Clarke mentions it in a promo - "......Beatles, Stones, Sam Cooke.....and all that was being played in Ireland was Johnny Cash" (That was paraphrasing btw!!!)

Brannigan is obviously trying to go national and fair play for that. But we don't need another "same shyte, different day" broadcaster, we need one that will play stuff that isn't played on the nationals. One that promotes Irish music (they do have that kinda covered already). One that caters to people that doesn't want to listen to the same crap that's on on every other channel. Why the hell can't Brannigan grow something between his legs and let the station play what the listeners want to hear?

    ARRGH!!!!!!

Sorry Mikey for hijacking your post. Getting seriously F-offed at Nova lately.

You're right, I'd say if you asked, the majority of Nova listeners they wouldn't have an issue with playlist. It's just slightly different enough from the other stations to keep them tuned in.

If you asked them how many hours a day do they "really" listen...i'd guess 1-2 hours...so they're not getting the tragic repeat process....
and anyone who listens all day and still thinks its the best station in Dublin...well they're just sad...i almost, i said almost feel sorry for Weenie and the Butt, GG and PC for having to play the sh1te they do.....:P

I could have sworn I overheard 'Back to Black' being played on Nova in work the other day. Has Amy Winehouse been designated a 'Nova Artist'? Or was it a case of human error and they meant to play 'Back in Black'? From Nova's questionable music policy as of late, I'm guessing it's the former?

"Trying to go national"? There is a better chance of Paul Murphy becoming Taoiseach than that happening.

I think that's going to be a regular slot on Woods' show going forward. To be honest, I actually find her to be one of the better prime time presenters on the station.

In light of recent feedback from valued service users, going forward I shall endeavour to streamline such cliches in all future posts in order to maximise substance and minimise inane waffle.

(I walked into that, in fairness. Duly noted Max :-D)

I remember posting a few months ago about hearing a news bulletin at 5:30pm on a weekday on Nova which seemed to be the news from 24 hours earlier!
