Interesting to see where you were coming from, but maybe I was overthinking a couple of clues.

At least we made it tense in the end!

See i think the difference is that i started playing this game last christmas as a card game. So I'm not used to using t'internet as a source for clues. I was trying to join Canada and park into a clue with google but i just couldnt find a way that the team wouldnt go down a rabbit hole. When your team said Canada for the solaris clue i was like - oh Jesus how does that even happen?
Also are you looking at the whole board when you're coming up with your clues? As soon as you said washer as a clue i thought - oh god they're gonna look at pipe. And sure enough....
I was very nervous about the carriage clue because of car being on the board. I think keepjng clues simple is one thing but also practice lets you understand where people might take your clue. Sometimes though the board just doesnt work for you. :/

Yes, I look at whole board when I try to work out clues. I see pipes from a plumbing background, and I can't remember washers featuring. Olives and sleeves and white tape, yes. If I think really hard, I think I found one in use between sink and pipe, a rubbery one used as gasket, but the connection don't jump out at me, had to think hard to find it.
But I noticed it when it came up too. I definetly got some unexpected connections from my clues. Server for Solaris, car for washer, and fighter from celestial, even thought military 2 was trying to capture soldier and knight and not fighter, when it would have been easier to come up with a 3 that gets fighter in that go.

Yeah I was trying to think of something you could've said for those 2 words that didn't push them towards fighter. I think military was a good clue. Maybe your teammates just weren't on the same wavelength. :pac:

    Can I play?

    Absolutely. The more the merrier.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,377 ✭✭✭✭Jayop

Probably get started tomorrow now when we get one more player and then others can join in. If someone else wants to be captain that's played before let me know and we can get started right away.

If it's not until tomorrow then I'm in. Though happy to stay guessing unless you're stuck for a captain.

I've no problem captaining to get a game going, but will happily spet aside and guess if someone else wants a go.

Molly, Stawbs, Jayop, QB, BJ, Keith.

That's 6 so a good number. Anyone else want to try being captain that will be around? If not I can go ahead with myself and Keith as captains.

It's easy to do from your phone, but I can do the most of it all anyway in terms of posting the images. Just the important things are...

    1) Don't post the URL as that shows the answers
    2) Be careful not to click the wrong word as a guess as there's no way to change it.
    3) Remember to switch between red and blue teams after a go.

New game thread. BJ, it's no harm to take a screengrab of the board on your phone with the spymaster view incase the board times out.
