I loved it! But then again now my memory wouldn't be great in recalling what the other 2 were like. :)

Any recommendation for the night that's in it?

Planning to light a fire and watch something with (teenage) kids. Maybe the martian if there is nothing Halloween related recommended.

It Follows or The Babadook for straight up horror

If you want something more funny than scary then You're Next, Tucker & Dale Vs Evil or Cabin In the Woods are worth a look.

I kid you not there is a 4k quality 1 hour video of a wood fire burning.

    This too shall pass.

Highly recommend From Dusk Till Dawn if it's the one with George Clooney in.

Highly, highly, highly recommend Weiner. It's a documentary about a US Congressman that was caught sending dick pics over Twitter. It's fantastic.

Would second that. Amazing the actions he takes. Makes you want to read up even more on the man. He got in considerable trouble since the events of the film.

First time Trump pops up in it is genuinely hilarious also. Great documentary.

    I've seen it.

in the event my teenage children decided some of their friends were staying over so we ceded the living room, the best tv and the fire to them. Ended up watching some mindhunter instead of anything scary.

Watched 1922 last night. Not outstanding but very watchable. Thomas Jane is very good in it.

Have to second "Weiner" as well, saw it on BBC3 last year, it is complete car crash politics right before your very eyes. I was expecting Ricky Gervais to pop up and do a David Brent impromptu performance its that off the wall. Remember the McDonalds scene vividly, the theme tune to "Benny Hill" should have been played when that happened, would have been apt!!! :D

    +1.

I was imagining the rave reviews it would have gotten if it had been a movie - with actors playing the roles rather than the actual people.

Fascinating documentary, Really felt for the communications director and his wife too tbh.

Hard to understand how he could be so successful on one front and yet so stupid on another.

    Regarding Weiner
Have any of ye seen the video interview with the 15 year old who reported him for cybersex?! It's mental. She speaks as if she was used to entrap the sick fool. She says when asked why she contacted him, "I saw he was involved with Hillary running for President, so I wanted to see if he was up to his old tricks" WTF!! Like what 15 year old think likes that?! Sooo dodgy. Anyone would think that Trump's team spotted a way to use her to embed the emails onto Weiner's laptop, and then use the underage cybersex ploy to get the FBI to inspect his laptop. It's absolutely mental.

I really felt for the wife when I was watching it. She has her own glittering career completely separate to Weiner and his f*cking nonsense dragged her down to his level.

I've read alias grace, great book, great story - should translate well to netflix.

the more Margaret Atwood adaptations the better imo, a hadnmaids tale is great too, though not on netflix.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before. Apologies if it has.

I've started watching a very funny drama/comedy series called 'Rake'.

It's an Australian series about a chaotic but lovable Sydney barrister. Very funny.

I watched the Red Army documentary tonight. I think it has been mentioned a few times and I've been meaning to watch it and I noticed it was going off Netflix in a few days so thought I better get round to watching it.

Pretty crazy story and other than the USA beating them at the Olympics I knew nothing about this team or the players. Really fascinating stuff, even if you're not a sports fan.

Finished Stranger Things 2 this evening.

Well my view is, if you want to borrow, borrow from the best.

I think I saw Terminator 2, Lord Of the Rings (the finale), Back To The Future, the Exorcist,Beneath The Skin (yes, in Ellies dream scenes) and I'm sure I've missed hundreds (oh yes, a reference to Stephen king's Maine).

But don't think it's just a random mashup. it does work very well. Yes, you are rooting for the characters and the end is just perfect ,
if you are my age and can't think of a disco without a slow set and Cyndi Lauper at the end of the night
    .

Since I spent the last week watching Line of Duty, it's a perfect antidote .
