Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Captaining the shít out of Kane... So knowing my luck, he's gonna blank

Kane is beyond sensible. But I may still go for Aguero. I think City/Arsenal will be higher scoring than Spurs/Palace.

I agree with you and if I had Kun I'd be very very tempted
    But I don't
    So Kane it is

Kane it is. But when I captain Harry he blanks. When I don't he gets a brace :(
Could be tempted by Rom against an out of form Chelsea

Voted Kane but now think Aguero. Damn it's tough because this is the sort of game at home against a heavily defending team that Spurs manage a 0-0 in.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,173 ✭✭✭Dearg81

I'm going with Aguero. City are on fire and playing an attacking team. There should be a lot of goals and Sergio looked sharp against Napoli. Kane did look good last night but spurs havent been tearing teams apart at home the way city do.

On Sterling atm as I've Jesus & no Aguero

Will probably (inevitably) swap back to Kane

They are after beating Real Madrid 3-1 and Liverpool 4-1 at home in their last 2 games

My panic sale of Kane last week is killing me now and not taking an extra -4 hit to get him back.
Have Alli in as captain at the moment but may take a punt on Salah to be different to the Kane/Aguero captainers in my league.

I kind of feel Kane will disappoint this week but I've got to put weird feelings aside and do the sensible thing which is to captain Kane.

    **Completely meaningless stat alert**

Kane has only scored twice in 7 games against Palace.

Off sick from work so will spend most of the day in an antibiotic fuelled state of procrastination whether to get Kane back for a hit (and dumping Sanchez)

Just switched from Kane to Aguero. I think City could maul Arsenal this weekend. Also Spurs have had difficulty breaking down some of the weaker teams at home and may have a bit of a Champions League hangover.

It's a bit of risk...Kane for sure is the safer option.

I prefer captaining Kane when he's not so much of a no-brainer.

    Flipping between Kane and Kun.
Edington towards Kun at the minute as Arsenal will have had one day less to recover for the game.

Plus, it's Aguero against that Arsenal defence.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,191 ✭✭✭✭Shanotheslayer

Sorry can't multi quote on phone.

My reasoning for Atsu is that Bournemouth are sh1te. Concede every game. Atsu has looked decent. No game mid week. Newcastle look like they're playing well also.

Will no doubt go to Kane but I need a differential for my leagues

Literally not a single player who played last night for Arsenal will play against City, just in case that helps your thinking.

The only player even on the bench was Cech.

Arsenal's starting XI will be completely fresh.

Can still see the thinking behind Aguero tbh, City are just so deadly. I'm tempted myself.

It's GW 10, very early to be talking about differentials!

This game is best played vs yourself, at least for the first 25 - 30 GWs. If you are far behind a certain person at that stage you can start looking at their team and start taking pot shots and making differential decisions to try and catch them.

Making a move like captaining Atsu is only going to keep you further behind and make the lead more unassailable.

If you want a football metaphor, it's like your 2-0 down 20 minutes in and you decide to start putting your keeper up for corners!

It's a mad move imo, but good luck if you go for it!

I currently have my team set up as :

    Elliot
    Tripper - Gomes - Ward - Jones
    KDB - Choupo - Doucoure
    Lukaku - Jesus (V) - Kane (C)

    Bench:
    Myhil - atsu - Otimendi - Matic

any suggestions on changes or does this look good?

They have conceded 3 goals in last 4 games including playing Spurs and Chelsea
There will not be many goals in that game tomorrow
You might get lucky but on the balance of probability you are looking at 2/3 points
Might end up same as Kane but if you are looking for a differential look elsewhere imo
A defender or keeper from Newcastle could easily outscore atsu !

i may be mad, but when teams start getting praised all round like city currently, and rightly so, invariably they end up losing, and no better team than arsenal to spring a major surprise.
    Be warned

My first thought is that Wenger can’t be that stupid, and then I remember he played wing backs at Anfield!

Sticking with Kane but Aguero is tempting.

Same here, Aguero was my gut and I've been trying to convince myself to go with the safer Kane option.

If we're looking at Arsenal's form, they have been very exposed by Everton and Swansea in the last 2 games. City could destroy them.

The formation was fine and had absolutely nothing to do with the defeat, it was the personnel and the amount of them played out of position.

I'm being sensible and staying with Kane.

Even is City hammer Arsenal there's no guarantee Aguero gets a huge haul, there's goals and assists all over that team. If City are comfortable after 60-70 mins you could well see Jesus coming on for him too.

If Spurs hammer Palace Kane will be involved heavily.

But yeah I can see the temptation with Aguero, my gut is leaning towards him too, but generally best to play this game with your head!

Looking at the list of casualties West Ham have at the back I'm very tempted to go with Salah as a differential but haven't the balls to pull the trigger :D

Kane is obviously the outstanding candidate, but I'm worried he could be rested considering the fixture and his injury.

I swapped Kane for Aguero last week because of the injury (bad move), now I don't know whether to swap back. If I knew Kane was starting v Palace I would.

There is no way Kane is rested. He started against Madrid. He's fit, and Spurs are toothless enough without him.

    I agree.

I was thinking Pochettino might go easy on Kane but his rotation was enforced with Lloris and Toby A out so he won’t want to go making further changes.

It’s the reason I think he’ll start Bavies too.

On the very slim chance Kane doesn't play I'll just have to settle with some bloke called Aguero. Kane captain Aguero vice for me purely because of who they are playing.
