    I really don't know anymore

Watford round evens seems crazy generous to me, given Stoke have the worst defence in the prem. These sort of odds always make me think the bookies know something I don't...

    Mmm

Going with Piqué to be shown a card @2.80 on 888 cause of the current political climate in Catalonia

Umtiti loves a card against Bilbao so taking him too best
    priced @3.50 on 888

    Like them a lot less

To put some perspective on it...

VVV goal needed: VVV had 15 attempts on goal
Feyenoord or Roda goal needed: Feyenoord had 30 attempts on goal, balls of the line, post, everything.
ADO not scoring the only one that made sense as they didnt even try.

Interrupted since the 23rd minute - do you think it will continue? Seems like half an hour has passed already

Any idea what happens our bets if the game is abandoned due to weather conditions? Thanks

Edit - looks like they are back out on the pitch warming up again

WInd seems to have gone down a bit, stopped raining and the pitch where Nagoya has to attack for the 2nd half looks ok too.

I've been waiting for today for quite a while. I think there is betting gold available today for card backers.

The Catalan president declared Independence on Friday as most will know. In retaliation Madrid are invoking direct rule and have sacked the President and Catalan parliament. Today in La Liga Real Madrid travel to Girona right in the heartland of Catalonia. My other half is from a place very near Girona - I can tell you for certain the Independence movement is very strong there. The Catalan president is from Girona and was filmed yesterday walking around the streets of Girona meeting the people and gathering support. Now factor in that Real Madrid ('Royal Madrid' in English) who were commonly known to be Franco's team are playing there today and you will get where I am going with this.

Girona are no strangers to cards when they want, they managed 8 team cards last Monday away to Deportivo. I think that Girona 4 or more team cards @2.38 on Hills looks great.

I will just leave this freely available pic of Sergio Ramos to explain why I think he could end up in the book today.

    wtan8i.jpg

Sergio Ramos to be shown a card @3.00 on 888

Also taking one of the local Girona lads Pere Pons to be shown a card @3.00 on 888.

For the day that’s in it a small stake on both teams to be shown a red card might not be a bad idea @20.00 on betfair/powers

There’s a big pro Spanish demonstration on today just down the road from Girona in Barcelona. This game was even in doubt due to the political situation... the stage is set .. let’s have em at each other!

I see value on both Brighton double chance @ 1.62 and on under 2.5 goals @ 1.57 so will be splitting my stake evenly between both bets on this game.

There are other regions in Spain that may want independence (even though the majority of Catalans don't).

So basically how many of the Girona players are from Catalonia?
How many of the Madrid players are from Madrid?
And have any of them expressed an interest in the current situation in Catalonia apart from Ramos and Pique (who are both professionals)?

You may have players from the Basque region of Spain playing for Madrid and sympathising with the Catalan people so they aren't going to go out to 'make a point' during the game.

But then again maybe they will, good luck with the bet, interesting analysis:)

Direct quote from Ramos which sounds like he just wants to have his national teammate keep the peace in the camp and have the fans stop booing him during the game rather than him personally having a strong opinion on the subject.

As quoted in MARCA, Ramos says Piqué's continued lobbying for the vote will only embolden the Spanish national football fans who whistle at him.

"Pique's tweet is not the best if you don't want them to whistle," Ramos said.

"Maybe the tweet is not the best for the group either but everyone is free to say what they think."

There were I believe 4-5 players from Catalonia with regular game time for Girona when I checked them. I don't think Madrid have any Basques (that's not for 100% tho) , last one was Xavi Alonso I believe. Bet is based on high political tensions and what the two teams or selected players represent.

Maybe the ref will keep the cards in his pocket to keep the calm with the political climate in mind. Hopefully not.

You might be on to something but I would watch the first 20 minutes to see how the game is playing before placing that bet or see some player that is a bit over enthusiastic in his tackles but its definitely an added aspect to the game.

I asked my La Liga guy if he thinks this will be a dirty/tough game and he doesn't think it will be dirty at all.
