Found the gunplay boring on bioshock infinite but worse was the story. The whole racism thing was ham fisted and badly implemented and kind of got swept under the rug.

The rest was just a convoluted mess. I see a lot of people praising convoluted storylines these days just because it's so clever when it all makes sense in the end. The convolution in this case doesn't disguise the fact the whole game us kind of about nothing and it severely fumbles on the themes it does try to convey.

The only part I enjoyed was the second dlc as the stealth was a lot if fun. Then it tries to pull off another bit of convolution which meant absolutely nothing and didn't disguise one of the worst bits of retconning I've seen.

Felt I'd wasted my time by the end.

One of the best openings in a game. First one in the series I played and was thinking yes, this will be decent.

However after killing enemy number 764 and sliding around on rails it was a steaming pile of boring ****e.

The opening, with the gradual reveal of Columbia from afar, was on par with the first reveal of Rapture. Both were total visual spectacles.

There's some amount of salt happening here when you try to discuss the negative aspects of the Switch.
    Indeed.

It was getting so salty yesterday I was picturing a few Switch owners looking like this after reading some of the comments.

I'd love to buy myself a switch, but just can't justify the price of it when it comes to buying it, the extra controller (especially if pro-controller) and the couple of games I want.

I know it is no more than buying any other console, cheaper than Pro and One X, but as a secondary console (for me) it needs to be cheaper.

In terms of my perception of the console - I see it has many problems, mostly online functionality; communication, no store, but I don't care about the communication or store aspects really.

The big issue I had with the console was the lack of save transfering meaning a bricked console means your game progress is wiped too. I read that is now fixed, so my one big concern is gone.

Just wish I had more money and it was slightly cheaper. Would love to play Mario Odysey, Mario Rabbids, Golf Story, SnipperClips Plus and a few others.

If a proper pokemon game is released on it I'll buy it though. Want a proper pokemon on a proper console (though I have only actually played Red!)

I think it's best you and I see other Destiny Clans

Interesting you should say. Bought myself an Xbox One Tuesday. Boards lad still haven't accepted my clan request.

I saw a notification that you'd been accepted. I'll message the admin now and double check it's gone through.

    That's accepted now.

It isn't really fixed though. You can only transfer your saves if you have your old switch alongside your new one as far as I'm aware.

I can't work up a head of steam for either of the mid gen refreshes from either Sony or MS, all that investment to play the same games again, albeit more impressive looking?
I haven't got a 4k set and not likely to soon, so I'll wait until they come down in price, my XBox One and PS4 are working just fine as it is.

Same here basically. If I go up from PS4 to PS4 Pro then I am probably going to have to buy a new TV to go with it to get the full effect.

I find the impact of the new improved graphics wears off within a few weeks anyway. The smugness of knowing I have the best system might never wear off but I don't know just how much smugness I'm gonna get for my money.

Portability is a big thing for me too and these mid-gen Sony and MS consoles just don't provide that...

For the most part, it doesn't make that much of a difference. Even as great as Horizon Zero Dawn looks in 4K, to me it's really the HDR that makes a far bigger difference than 4K, and the base models of the consoles have HDR ability through a software update anyway.

That said, the choice between bumping from 30fps to 60fps in 1080 is also a nice to have and can make a bigger difference than the 4K too.
I only bought recently and went with the Pro model for both future proofing and the latter reason. No regrets either especially since I have no desire for 4K at the moment given not only the performance trade offs but also the need to buy a new TV and a new receiver to keep my existing easy setup. :o

The PS Pro is best utilised as an excuse to upgrade your TV when talking to your significant other :o

It's funny how a tiny snapshot of posts can be seen as that. The negative or positive aspects weren't even the discussion anyway. Plenty of structured criticism from plenty of Switch owners to be found, the point was completely missed if you thought that negative aspects of the Switch can't be discussed.

I got a new TV not too long ago and it's fab but not 4k, and I am not going to be upgrading for at least 4 years I'd say.
The HDR thing is more interesting alright, but not something I'll be needing to spend money on right away.
I'm more likely to get a PSVR, and after that it'll be two years before the Xbox Two and the PS5!

Lads a bit of a weird one but I want to see if anyone else has experienced this. I play a lot of Fifa online, TLOU multiplayer and 2d indie games without problems. However, the majority of first person shooters I play these days hurt my eyes, like there's too much happening on screen and it strains them. Has anyone else experienced this? It's really annoying because there's a list of games I'd like to play that I can't at the moment.

I'd say you have to go to an Opticians and get your eyes tested.

What about the poor xbox one gamers? They have being starving for months. Although I like the look of that cuphead game, thankfully can just get it on PC

With forza series now on Pc and has g29 support, I have no use or interest in xbox anymore. Other Ms exclusives going to pc anyway, so Pc, Ps4 and switch has me completely covered.

Its great that Ms finally discovered pc gaming. :pac: , but I wonder if they shot themselves in a foot, maybe not foot, but toe? Why would someone like me would even bother with xbox?

On switch topic: if someone like me actually in love with new Zelda ( those who here for a while know my feelings about zelda and mario games), then maybe switch is not that bad.
I have every single current generation gaming device at home and from all of them only old gaming laptop and switch that are actually played. Well... gaming pc gets action sometimes on Forza 7 + g29.

I'd also look to see if you can turn off motion blur on those other games, this can be part of the cause...

You might try artificial tears, you can get them in any chemists, you might have dry eyes and it only emerges when you play a game during which you are blinking less, presumably an unconscious behaviour playing certain types of games.

go to specsavers for an eye examination, seriously you may need glasses

    actually, it's a tenner https://www.specsavers.ie/stores/nutgrove/euro10-eye-test
and free if you're on the medical card or unemployed afaik

+1 on this. I heard a doctor say recently we are the 'iphone generation' and blinking less while we stare at phones, tablets, tv's. If you still find no difference after using drops, then no harm getting a test done in specsavers.

Doc might have been a spoofer though, android is way better than apple.

For any Darksiders fans here, I've a quick question. What are the best versions?
I picked up the THQ Nordic Bundle a few months back with Darksiders 1 and 2 for boh PS3 and PS4(Warmastered/Deathinitive editions). I've also got Darksiders 2 on Wii U.
I was looking online and I see some negative remarks about the remasters.

Looking at the user comments for both PC versions, the Warmastered edition seems to have a couple of negative remarks regarding performance issues but an overwhelming number of positive ones so unless you you hit any issues early on, I think you're good.

Similarly, the Dethfinitive version gets some negative marks due to performance hits in certain areas but there's also some acknowledgement the game looks noticeably better than the original release.

There's some negativity in general saying the new versions just spruced up the graphics and didn't address any of the bugs in the original so in that case, on the assumption the PS4 version will be similar to the PC ones, which I'd wager they are, you'd still be better off with the new ones.

I've Warmastered sat here for xbox but haven't played it yet... I believe it's been patched since launch to fix the frame rate issues with several of the bosses though I don't recall there being much talk about major issues outside of those and glitched achievements which also got patched.
