Yes - the assailant was brought to court but no punishment
I've gotten a few digs over the years (though I deserved most of them so I'm not sure if they count!) plus my house was broken into - nothing was stolen, I think I must have just happened to disturb them at the right time, I didn't see them, I walked in with a baby in my arms to find the back door smashed open and a big knife + a welders hammer on the floor - there was cash on the kitchen table that hadn't been touched so they obviously weren't there long. If I had of walked in 1 minute later it could have been a very different story.

Never bothered reporting any of it - it's basically pointless where I'm from!

Thankfully minor in relation to the stories here.
Had my wallet taken by a pick pocket on the Metro in Paris, I should have known better. I'd be working there for almost a year and was always careful, this was on the Tuesday of my last week so I let my guard down. Had to report it to claim through work insurance, the police office was a nice guy.

Had my watch stolen from my gym bag in the Rugby clubhouse during training. A few of the other lads had stuff too, I reckon it was one of the lads on the team. Pretty much confirmed by one of the coaches years later they suspected him too. They started locking the club house during training sessions after the incident.
