It's a pity we don't have politicians like this in Ireland.

The criminals in Ireland have far too many "rights".

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has said he would be willing to shoot criminals himself after reining back the police's powers.

Since Mr Duterte took office in June 2016, more than 7,000 people have been killed in a brutal crackdown on illegal substances, with the leader saying he would be "happy to slaughter" three million drug addicts.

Amid claims of human rights abuses by the country's police, Mr Duterte put the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in charge of his anti-drug war on 11 October.

However, the 72-year-old has offered to kill criminals himself as he threatened to hand powers back over to the police

The average Philippine is dirt poor, poorly educated and has lived under a succession of foul criminal regimes usually propped up by the USA and often under attack from IS. Anyone who promised to "clean up the streets" would have a chance.

I know a fair few Filipinos who never wish to return because of utterly warped his regime is. He operates death squads, violates human rights and seems to think that rape is a rather funny topic. It's also one of the most dangerous places for journalists to operate, his response to this fact was that they probably deserve it if they're murdered.

You two seem to big fans of tyrants... Human rights just go out the window, you don't even support a basic level of due process if you think Duterte's death squads are the way forward.

A fair few of those are on the payroll of other dealers. All they are doing is getting rid of competition for wealthier drug lords. There is nothing noble about any go this.

The death penalty is NOT banned in the EU.

Its allowed under certain circumstances ie "time of war or imminent threat of war".

The drug lords have declared war on the state so its only right that they are taking out.
