Just a cautionary note for anyone dealing with Tomtop. I received my initial drone shipment, no problem, all happy. I then made a further order for a battery and a few other bits on 27th July. I never received this order and they have been as unhelpful as possible, sending me tracking numbers that show no information apart from "shipped". I contacted them numerous times, receiving nonsense, generic, please wait replies. I am trying to get my money back via Paypal, but I figured a cautionary note here may be advisable for people placing large orders. I certainly would never deal with this company again.

That's ****e. Unfortunately most of the after sales in from Asian electronics companies is pretty poor. I suppose it's one of the risks associated with the savings, still no excuse though. At least you've paid with PayPal and can get your money back.

That is bad. But as tedpan mentioned, it can be one of the issues when buying from China.
I think the way they work is by tracking their items, and if it goes missing they will try to pinpoint it before they will reply to you, which is frustrating.

You will either eventually get it or get refunded, or both. It is frustrating as fck trying to get it sorted. Forget paypal, they are not very helpful. Quickest way is to do a chargeback with the bank.

Had a similar issue on a (fairly small) order. Customer service is a joke..

    Package eventually showed up.

I'm very skilled at getting piss poor footage from the Mavic. I even have Polar Pro Cinema Series ND filters. I either get massively over exposed skys or dark noisy landscapes or blurred trees, or all three at the same time.

I would get rid of the filter, it's not sunny enough in Ireland, they actually make most shots worse here. Also make sure you focus using the app while in flight.

Strange one here of anyone has any suggestions.

Got a new phone (SG8) which has a different usb socket than my old one (it's a usbc on the s8)

The little connection cable that goes into side of remote to the newer usbc is dodgy (won't connect) and so rather than taking out the long cable that came with the phone each time, I've started connecting the nexus7 to the remote.

Anyway, for some strange reason videos aren't saving to the tablet. Pics are no problem, but videos aren't appearing in my gallery.

    Anyone any ideas?

Brightness is tricky all right - books written on it - but set it to cloudy conditions and center focus + center brightness options on can help to keep the ground (the most interesting bit) sharp and correctly lit.

For the blurred trees - thats probably the filter doing it - make sure also Sharpness is set to +1 as the default 0 will give you a blury mess.

Also - days are very short right now of course - I find you need a fair amount of light for the Mavic videos to look really well.

I do not get what you mean :o

Would a USB-C adapter work? for example something like this - That is an expensive example for that type of thing. I have the Phantom 4, damaged now, waiting for parts, but i am not sure what you mean.

Yeah the adapter would work, however I already am using it in the bedroom for charging the phone at night. The new usb cable that came with the phone is in my work car as I need to charge the phone whilst out and about with work too.

    Anyway, that's basically irrelevant :p

Anyone know why videos aren't saving to the tablet but they do when using a mobile?

Make sure you have enough space of course - 2Gigs at least.

    check this setting

Otherwise - Uninstall Go4 completely and reinstall it - takes less than 5 minutes - could be a permissions thing

When it comes to more detailed problems and a higher payment you will need to rely on your bank, and not so much paypal. I did ask questions to see if any answers, but i guess i was just looking for more positive experiences. Paypal are not going to go out of their way when/if you have a more serious problem. They are however, fine for €0 - €500 broken or undelivered problem.

Actually. I would not even trust them with up to €300, unless it was not to complex for them (scam).

    Nice one!
PayPal always sort me out too, not just small value items either.

Just collected my cashback from topcashback for purchasing my drone via them.

Few options available for where you want it paid, including PayPal.

    I went with Amazon however.

Hope the rest of you lot remember to collect yours too. B;)

Fair play to whoever it was gave the heads up on the cashback offer. Big thanks to suckit for the OP too.

What date did you put your order through? Did you wait just under 12 weeks? I am sitting at 9 weeks now... I assume my cashback has some time go...

Took my spark with me to Bali in the hopes of recording some footage.
Sadly the otg cable seems to overheat my phone and caused the dji app to malfunction and cause the video to lag significantly and also not record.

    Gonna attempt it again tomorrow.
