Still shaking after what I saw today on the M50

Just thought I'd post what I saw today on the M50 between leopardstown and cherrywood .. I'm still trying to figure it out. An articulated lorry trying to run a Nissan micra off the road ! Twice .. something straight out of a movie only this was happening two cars in front of me. No idea why but it was scary to see. The truck was going 120km too , he seemed fairly close to the micra , then he suddenly went into the fast lane went along side the micra and pushed him/her right into the hard shoulder .. I'm bloody shaking and I kept my distance ... just thought I'd put it out there. I got the trucks reg but not sure wether to get involved or not as the car went off at cherrywood , the truck was following him but at the last minute swerved back onto the motorway .. I kept behind him until I went off at bray. Mental

Absolutely get involved, meaning, report the incident to the Guards. This could have easily ended in a pile up, death and involving you directly in the accident.

There are cameras all along the M50. Don't know if they're recorded, but the sooner you report the incident, the more likely that they can try get some footage of the incident(s).

Blue trailer with DVC (not sure about the c bit) written on the canvass sides in big letters. It's not bs by the way , I looked at my speedometer and I was doing about 115 and I wasn't getting closer to him !
What will/can the guards do at this stage. Will they even entertain it if it's only me that calls them.

As per what OSI said trucks are supposed to be limited to 90 but a drive down any motor way will show that there's plenty who go faster.

Report it OP, this driving is not on at all. Someday that bully in the truck could kill somebody.

They might be able to review traffic camera recordings, identify the truck and micra and other vehicles whose owners could possibly be witnesses and contacted to make a statement.

The incident or part of it may have been captured on camera.

Any idiot who tries to drive someone off the road needs to be taken off the road. A collision at 115 kmh could result in a multi vehicle indident and multiple fatalities. There's no place for this type of behaviour on the roads.

A couple of years I witnessed a driver doing a last minute dive from the outside lane to the exit lane for the M7 one evening causing another driver to take evasive action, losing control and crashing. When giving my statement to the gardai they mentioned that there are no automated recordings. Things may have changed since as I think they said they've been asking for it a while.

Could get around the limiter years ago by a bit of electrical trickery.. not sure if its still do able with modern stuff..

But there are definetly trucks around the country doing more than 90 on the roads!

Sorry, are you kidding? What exactly would the micra need to do to justify being run off the road by a truck?! If you think anything justifies that kind of carry on, I hope I dont encounter you on the roads and 'p!ss you off'.

Unless the guy in the Micra just tried to murder the truck-driver's mother, there is absolutely no justification for attempted murder on his part. That's basically what it is. If his actions had resulted in a crash and a death, he'd be facing a manslaughter charge at a minimum.

I never said it justifies the reaction , but yes, to answer your question I do think some drivers are stupid enough to brake check a truck

...especially a Micra drivers, who based one experience, rank amongst some of the most Stupid on the road.

In that case the truckie should have done what I hope the OP does - report him/her. Taking the law into your own hands at 120km is lethal and criminal. I would take his licence off him and burn it.
