Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Sure I drove to work that morning and the went home at about 12, should I be charged? Sould anybody who set foot outside that day be charged?

    I call it a lucky escape, as I was sitting in the car with a board and suit beside me

    Decided onshore muck wasn’t my cup of tea and didn’t want to drive to Wicklow

    Half the folk in worked checked the photo to see if the surfer had a pony tail

    Barely looks worth the paddle out but if he caught a few 4-5 footers then nice one. The publics reaction to people enjoying action sports when the weather picks up a bit in Ireland is comical. To be fair the vast majority haven't got the slightest clue about what causes their outrage, but the comments about hoping he drowns etc are sickening.

    heres sinn fein's bill on this http://www.sinnfein.ie/contents/48141 all depends on what the authorities would consider reckless, rather then what an experienced sports person would, combined with red alert weather warning.

    you might able to fight your case with a judge but not before you've been threatened and arrested by gardai for surfing the morning of a storm

    If you act the maggot the RNLI or Cost guard will chew you out but they don't and wouldn't be if favour of prosecution. What if I go out surfing with my mate and a tricky reef and we get it wrong, I get ashore but he's still struggling, what if I delay till the last minute calling for help for fear of getting arrested... and it all goes tits up and he dies. Last thing the RNLI want are delayed calls.

    It’s the court of public opinion, a very slippery slope cause most deaths at sea or occur by the sea, happen in non stormy conditions

    For example a strong breeze can create powerful waves that regularly wash fishermen etc from rocks

    this is being voted on next week I tried to contact the these organisation to see what they thought of the bill but getting no reply, can anyone get their view?

    the bill was voted down because of the paying workers to stay out of work during red alerts section but most parties want the threaten to arrest those that may or may not need rescueing part to go ahead with FF planning to bring a bill on just that part
