What’s happening is Ireland is largely obsessed with and influenced by America (and we are not necessarily taking the best parts of it).

Are we talking big franchise branded doughnuts or little independent places? Is that one still on O'Connell St?

Not been home for almost a year so I genuinely don't know.

Well, the mark up on them is unbelievable due to the limited ingredients.

A lot of people enjoy being told what to like. Right now, they're being told to like donuts.

    So yeah, donuts.

It's still there, but its part of the Rolling Donut Franchise.  Prices have increased of course

That's the crazy thing. All these krispy kreme "flavours" just so they can charge £2 a piece. Head off. The 29p jam doughnut in LIDL does the job nicely - very much like the old Superquinn ones I remember as a kid and better than any of the other supermarkets.

Most of those doughnuts taste rubbish too.

I was thinking exact same thing only yesterday. Although I did sample a donut from one of the shops with gooey marshmallow filling. Was tasty.

I have a craving for a doughnut right now!

The majority of donuts are crap. Supervalu's own jam donuts are good though. We bought a box of donuts alrea from some place on Nassau Street.

€20 for 6 donuts! They were shite too.

And custard donuts make me think there's pus oozing from them.

Boojum went rapidly downhill a few years ago. Doesn't stop people lapping it up.
