It's windy at the minute, maybe it might get worse but I certainly was expecting to see trees being ripped from the ground.

You be following the news from other parts of the country!

Messing around on Google, you get a line of twitters on the screen

Low and behold, Panti Bliss enlightens us with the promotion of her /his bar being open today's amd invites all for a pint. Sounds lovely. Also makes a normally funny joke about being able to "scream 'we are all going to die" with the gays"

Problem is, that was published well after it was announced that a girl in Waterford had died

Of course, if anyone else in the celeb scene uttered that , despite clearly not having any intention to offend, and I have no doubt there was no intention, and she /he probably was oblivious to it, they would get hammered. But no, this will be ignored

One tree down in our garden (missed my car by maybe 30 cm, lucky me!) 2 trees down out back in the estate that we can see, and from our front door we can see 4 more trees down, partially blocking the road.

And yet people are still out driving in this weather - what could possibly be this important??? I'm not willing to believe they've all got sick or dying relatives, or are all members of the emergency response.

Though, that said, I've heard sirens going past a few times now, too.

    Why would you assume that?

Also, PB is a he. I am not sure why you inserted the "her" into it.

    Strange post

I'm beginning to sense that my plans to kayak out to the Saltee Islands and back this afternoon might actually not be too wise.

    Am I being needlessly over-cautious? I have a life-jacket.

Keep fighting the good fight. Letting people know something they otherwise wouldn't have known about just so they can be offended. Tut.

Ryanair are not letting this little gust of wind get to them, flying over my house several times. God bless them

Starting to get very windy here in Dublin. Over 200,000 dwellings without power. One person sadly killed in Waterford.

RIP that poor woman. Hopeful that it's the only fatality but the last time a similar storm hit there was 11killed.

Not bad yet in sligo, windy and a bit of rain but nothing out of the ordinary.

    Why would you assume that?

    Assume what?

I am not suggesting that Panti sought to be offensive or in bad taste, he /she may well be oblivious to the news that a fatality had occurred, but it the tweet was in poor taste

Yet this will be ignored by the luvies

I think in the last year, last 2 months in fact, we have seen poor taste comments from other "celebs" get battered and vilified

Tiles off neighbours roof here in Stillorgan. Gone from a breeze to that in a matter of 15 minutes. Still twits out and about walking and in cars. Absolute clowns.

Well according to some weather experts here, it's just a light breeze and everyone else is overreacting.

    So have at it...

What part? City centre looks deserted but not too windy on the news.

Timeline suggests that the tweet went out after the news broke of the fatality

Rather odd that has to be spelt out.

You hardly think that was in good taste?

Will you ever take this nonsense elsewhere. Whatever your agenda is here (and yes it does appear as an agenda)

    And what's with the he/she.

PB is a he and has never identified otherwise.
