You'd probably get a new model GS for a grand or fifteen hundred more, but this is something. Looks class in black with the tints.

That was for sale a few weeks ago for under €2000. Didn't have the tints either. Looks crap with the front tints IMO.

Interesting reg too, must have been the mayor's car originally. Usually the first 250 numbers or so of the year were reserved for government vehicles back then.

Ad says it's the mayor of galways old car.
Aren't they also supposedly not too bad on fuel if you take it handy?

Another mayoral LS430, lovely colour. Fresh test and higher spec. Original floor mats are always a good sign imo.

Nice. Facelifted version, so a better spec and a 6 speed instead of 5 speed box.

The black Lexus above has an NCT to Jan 2nd, so could put it in early to make it look better. Ownership transferred on September 21st, so plenty of warning bells there.

Are those 430 as good as the Ls 400 in terms of build?
An awful lot of the 430 seem to look dogged in the ads.

Opinions on a high miler GS450h lads?

Not sure of the miles - but am told its high and car has been used for chauffeur work.

What specifically should someone be looking at on a high mile '450h so?

Batteries would be a concern and can be an expensive fix unless you go down the road of replacing single packs.

Is it a given that batteries will run out of life over time and miles?

Whats up with the second (silver) one? The rears are a lower profile but is the suspension also sitting lower on the back? Looks pretty wonky

Easy fix, there are level sensors on each wheel and they have adjustable brackets so a 10mm spanner and 15 mins work will level it out.

My battery acted up over the summer, but I did fix it. Mine has 252k kms. I will say the GS450h is in a league of it's own. I've had a few BMWs and German cars etc, the GS owns that class. And the power is unreal. I had mime up for sale, but opting to keep it now.

But they are incredible cars. Will run on to 260kmh on a private road and knock out 100kmh in 5.2 secs. Boot space is poor though.

Great cars. Best car in its class, and I've owned my fair share of executives. The GS 450h is a rocketship too if you step on it. For daily driving it is beautiful and so so quiet. At speeds under 70kmh the thing can run on battery. The engine will be totally off. Scares people in car parks lol.

Mad how tax affects the resale value.

Pre 08 cars go for 3-4k
post 08 cars are up at 7-9k.

Here's a loveley one in the UK if you're wiling to travel. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201710039927546?postcode=bt126aa&sort=sponsored&year-from=2008&radius=1500&advertising-location=at_cars&price-to=10000&model=GS%20450H&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&make=LEXUS&page=1

They're a decent looking car and the power and refinement supposedly is great. However those dash controls look like something out a Nissan Primera, so dated, couldn't live with it considering the year!

The sat nav, electric window switches and the stalks next to the steering wheel are the exact same as in our auris.
    Wouldn't give a ****e though.

Touch screen, reversing camera, park assist, car park spot scanner, voice command for anything in the car etc etc. Auto tinting glass on the dial cluster, wing mirrors and rear mirror, built in bluetooth, the car even reads your text messages to you, and you can speak a reply to the car and it will send the message for you.

These are the best in class, hands down. And I've owned pretty much all the big ones in the class. Power and refinement is just out there. Luxury inside with real rolled wood on the dash parts, none of the fake plastic muck.

Not to mention the 14 speaker mark levinson sound system. Amazing sound quality.

They are nothing like a primera lol.

The high miler in question has an impressive 400k kms. Its of no interest to my dad who has been looking for a car nigh on three months now. Will be on donedeal this evening for anyone interested I'm sure.

I'd imagine the battery was done at some point. Mine was done about 2k ago by myself, had to replace a cell. With 252k on the clock now.

If ever there was a car that screamed Celtic tiger that is it.

Probably bought new by a taxi man or builder.

Wouldn't mind giving it a spin with that engine but definately not as a daily driver.

Never said they weren't well equipped, but in terms of interior aesthetics they are FAR from the best in this class, possibly the worst.

I got a loan of a gs 450h a few years back with a view to buying. Based on power figures, it seemed like a no brainer.
After spending a weekend with it, a didn't go for it. Yes power is excellent but I found there was little feel to, didn't like the interior wood colour and the drivers seat didn't go anywhere low enough - and I'm not looking for boy racer seating position.
Oh and the fake gears via the manual option was better left out.
I didn't buy but it was a 40k car at the time. Might look like perfection at 5k or so though.

A fine commendation for the big Toyota ;)

Indeed...can we talk about Toyota reliability :-)

The Lexus has it all .
The non hybrids have better boot space tho......the only downside with the 450h
