September has come again, so I decided to start the Milkrounds thread for the year that's in it.

    Have all the firms opened?

Anybody who interviewed with HOMS have you heard back yet?

Doesn't appear to have been as much activity as previous years on the milkround thread - I'll tell myself there's smaller competition:)
Applied for Eversheds last week and wondering when we may be due to hear back from them regarding interview/PFO?

Ha! Saw someone had posted on this and thought b***ls, Eversheds interviews are out and I didn't get one..
Hopefully soon, but maybe they're waiting until the current set of fe1s are over before they send out the invitations?

Way too soon to have heard back from Eversheds surely. It only closed on Friday. Could be another 2/3 weeks easily I’d reckon before anything comes back.

Did anyone get an acknowledgement back from Eversheds that they received the application?

I sent it to the address they provided but not even an automated one liner.

I did not get any acknowledgment either, so in a sense it reassures me. And to answer to previous posts, I'd doubt that they have already sent out interviews as the deadline was a few days ago.

No acknowledgement from them either - glad to hear I wasn't the only one.
I'm aware it's early but had a look at the thread from last year and they seemed to be coming back to people quickly, albeit I'm basing that off the dates and the application deadline could have been sooner,

Well, that was a quick PFO from Eversheds. Quite (sadly?) surprised by the speed.

Managed to get an interview myself thankfully - first ever traineeship interview so God knows what to expect!

I'm in the same boat! And there's not too much information on their website about it all either!

Anyone know anything about the format etc for Eversheds?

I'm not being smart saying this, but it literally is a job interview.. No frills, it's talking about your application and why you want to work there etc there's no trick questions

Well done to you guys. I'm wondering if it is useful even for me trying to apply for the TCs, as a final year but non-Irish (particular situation). I've got a little impression that even if I have good grades & extra curricular activities it might just not be enough.. in comparison with a basic Irish person. (Am I just paranoid?)

Got an interview with ES too.. anyone interviewed with them before? Is it one interview or are there second rounds?

Well that’s not strictly true. I’ve done a few that were all quite different. One round v 2. Some have scenario based questions to answer. Some are quite formal while others like Dillon Eustace are quite laid back. It’s helpful to have some idea of what you’re going into.

Sorry I was specifically talking about ES! They had one round last year

It depends on who is interviewing too. I had a shockingly cold and uptight interview in DE.
It all depends on the day and the partners tbh.

For anyone who's thinking of applying there, ByrneWallace are having their trainee open evening next Tuesday the 17th at 5:30. It's a good chance to get a feel for the place and meet current trainees. You need to sign up to attend in advance, details are on the website.

I took a look back through the thread from last year and there was some uncertainty after the interviews as to whether there could be a second round - by all accounts people had been told there would be a second round if Eversheds felt they needed it. It didn't come to pass by all accounts anyway.
No word on last year's thread as to what to expect in there regarding content etc however.

Hi guys, does everyone have to pay close to €200 to get cvs done up before you stand a chance of getting an interview?

    No not at all.
You just need some form of legal experience, reasonably good grades, volunteering or some type of other experience similar, part time jobs don't hurt you. Just keep working on yourself. paying someone to fix your CV isn't going to do **** if your CV doesn't have anything on it.
Keep putting yourself out there and improving yourself.

Anyone here that has previously interviewed with top 5 but didn't get anywhere? Do you think there is any point applying again?

Yeah definitely apply again. Just always try to have something new on your CV. But 100% apply again they can and do change their minds.
On another note has anyone been in Eversheds yet?

Hi again. Anyone having problems with the AC application form? I wanted to add some documents on it like updated CV etc, but every info I have put in the application form was erased and I can't save anything anymore.

Well... had to create a new account because the old one was not saving anything. :/

Interviewed yesterday evening, a strangely late interview I found! Not bad though, had a partner and an associate interview me, nothing out of the ordinary really! Just a waiting game now!

Anyone any idea as to how many they're interviewing/taking on?

The partners I interviewed with told me there were 79 people being interviewed with 3 places for 2018 and then 8 (I think) for 2019!
