There is nothing wrong with using the hard shoulder to pass a stationary right turning vehicle, it's what you should have done as well.

I'd say so, I really had to break hard for that one.

I know driving on the hard shoulder on a motorway is a penalty point offence. You can use it on a dual carriageway and national roads if the car is turning right which it was in this instance. Decided to brake because I saw cones in the hard shoulder. Just pointing out the late breaking and signal from the driver in front.

Yeah was thinking the guy behind did nothing wrong, I'd be more annoyed by the guy in front waiting til so late to break and indicate. Not like you were all travelling so slow.

and in the first you were failing to make progress at 44 km/h, not that thta excuses an illegal overtake.

How was it failure to make progress if the speed limit was 50km/hr on Ballyogan road and I was at 50km/hr on my speedometer?

Not his fault to cause someone else to overtake illegally tbf. The cam car wasn't in the wrong. The least that can be said of the first clip is that at least he waited til he could see the way ahead was clear. He certainly didn't seem to be sticking to the 50 limit.

ur speedo is wrong basically, as are most of them. Your video shows your speed as 44 to 46 and will be much more accurate than your speedo. If you're intent on driving on the limit, you need to adjust your speedo in your head. It's about 10% out.

Just trying to explain why the other guy might be frustrated enough to perform an illegal over take. Chill

There could be a 1000 reasons why the overtaker was frustrated but going on what we saw none should have anything to do with the poster who put up the video.

oh be real, the road outside my house is a 50 limit, 99% of cars are doing more than that I'd wager and some much more.
