iPhone 7 upwards - splitting lightning socket

Got a new 7+ the other day. Loving it so far. What I'm not loving is the lack of a headphone jack. I want to be able to charge & listen while at my desk.

Is anyone recommending a splitter they use? Ideally, I'd like to have charge through Lightning & 3.5mm jack. I've seen a couple of dual lightning, might work, but I have a pair of Bose headphones that I'd like to continue to use.

I believe the Belkin Rockstar http://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F8J198/ is the 'official' Apple solution for this. However, I know two people who've bought it (both for in car use) and bought found it a bit flaky and prone to breaking over time. No idea if there's a better alternative out there at present, tbh.

How do you find the unsupported phone? I currently have a 12 south hirise which has a bar that goes up the back to support it. I'd be afraid of the stress on the connector

I used a iPhone 6 in a leather case without any problem.
