Ten John Player Blue and a two litre of Olde English

An evening out for less than a tenner

That should have cost you less than a fiver tbh

naggin of vodka and a couple of cans of LCL pils before heading in to the grove in raheny. Good times.

I used drink the LCL pils.

Used get it in Le Chateau, Cork, when they had an off licence at the side. They used serve us in our uniforms ffs.

LCL super ftw, dorfmeister was another favourite. Back then, Bulmers also came in flagons and was considered a tramp a drink. Now, it's usually the most expensive pint in the pub.

It wasn't actually a bad beer tbh, does anvil cider ring any bells? Used to come in 500ml plastic bottles. Six for a fiver, same price as the dorfmeister

It was usually great craic, except when it wasn't.

    Much like grown up drinking.

I'd say I drank al fresco only a few times, at about 15. I didn't like drinking cans or flagons because of the amount of times you'd need the toilet. Wine or spirits was my tipple of choice. By 16 I was frequenting the local public houses. A little make-up and I was flouncing past bouncers for two years before I was legal. I remember having 19th birthday cocktails for my 17th birthday.

Yep, started about 15 I'd say, maybe 14 actually (mid - late 90s). Didn't like beer back then so would either have:
    - A flagan of Devil's Bit
    - A flagan of Olde English
    - If I was feeling rich, 4 cans of Stag
    - I think there was a clear cider called Hudson Blue? 4 cans of that
    - A nagan of vodka
    - If all else fails, raid the drinks cabinet at home and make a "fishermans fcuk".

The town I lived it had a great set up regarding underage drinking - alleys and laneways from the offie to the place we drank. It was in a green area away from houses so were rarely discovered. I remember 50+ people being out on Friday nights, it was brilliant.

Your drink, 10 B&H and chipper on the way home all for less than a tenner. Bargain.

Thinking about it know, my folks knew right well what we were up to but obviously let it slide for whatever reasons!

I started knacker drinking around 15.

Bottles or cans of Rolling Rock, Bavaria Crown, Dutch Gold, Tuborg et al were the way to go. Remember the first time I went knacker drinking, I got pissed off about three bottles. Spent many a Friday evening in our regular drinking spot, which was an abandoned church on top of a slope among some trees at the bottom of a housing estate, getting twisted and dicking about before desperately trying to sober up and make it home by whatever time my ma had told me. Drink was more the thing for the lads I hung around with, didn't smoke hash or fags at the time. I got caught the first few times I went out, after that I started being more careful about what I did.

I also did some drinking at lunch time on a Friday when I was in fifth and sixth year. Me and my mate would go into double biology in a right mess. Never got caught, somehow. The teacher was fond of the drink herself so probably thought the smell was coming from her.

A lot of the time it was fun but there were some incidents where I wonder what the **** we were thinking and how we got out of those situations unscathed.

    Meeoow ! :)

I drank a lot while underage in the 80s. Linden Village was the drink of choice usually up a field with friends. When I got into pubs or nightclubs it was bottles of Ritz, Pernod and blackcurrant or Black Russians. I usually ended up puking my guts up, I was a messy little bitch ! I still remember getting home and the room spinning when I got into bed. These days I can take or leave drink pretty much, a bottle of wine over a couple of nights of the week is all.

The first time I drank was at Slane. I was nearly 16. I think it was a 500ml Coke bottle with 1/3 vodka 2/3 coke. Got a bit tipsy. I never went knacker drinking, or bush lushing as a friend of mine calls it. I drank a few times at parties in friends houses or at weddings, and went to the pub most weekends in the last few months before I turned 18. The only time I remember getting drunk and sick was New Years Eve 1999. It was horrible and I had to work at 8 the next morning.

Used to go drinking on the grounds of UCD and then play football at about 2am, one of the lads brothers would leave a sportbag full of bottles for us in a prearranged spot in some bushes, good times

Bunch of 14 year old scangers were outside a local supermarket. They beckoned me over. "Hey mistarr, geh us a few cans will yeh?. (They never specified which ones :) )

So I duly obliged. I asked them if I should get them the cheapest I can find, they said yes.

I took their collective 30 Euro and went int the shop. I filled a bag-for-life with shop brand cola. I covered the opening of the bag with another bag for life so it wouldn't be immediately noticeable.

I beckoned one of the scangers and said I'll leave it beside the bin, take it after I drive off so it's not so obvious (I wanted to be out of the firing line :P ).

I could hear them screaming when I was a mile up the road .. little vermin scrotes :P

So you robbed some children. Good man

Back in my day when I was about 14 or 15 there was tons of pubs that used serve underage in Cork City:
An Phoenix, Moynihans across from the train station (first ever pint there), the Oval, Le Chateau, Reidy's Vault Bar, Benny McCabes (now Fred Zeppelins), Crazy Horse Salon (Now Reardens), An Siol Bron (Now tourist trap the Shelbourne), Sin E, An Brog, Hairy Lemon, An Crannog, The Horse's Ass (watched WC'94 there), Nancy Spains, tons of places really. Funny thing is most of them are still going in one form or another. From 4th year school onwards we were out in the pub must weekends. There was even underage friendly nightclubs like Gorby's, Henry's, and The Forum.

Drank a good bit in college- drink fcuk all now. Don't see the attraction. Poor return on investment.
